Anyone planning on fighting the snow.....

Post by DaBurglar »

....and visiting AC during the period February 4 thru 7????    I will be there, staying at Golden Nugget and Resorts......I have not been able to go for almost two months now (since early December) for a couple reasons, one of them is health related (cannot elaborate beyond that since it offends the sensibility of certain miserable, clueless and hateful individuals), the other is the atrocious weather (i.e. bitter cold) that has gripped the region pretty much since New Years....What's great though is that by NOT visiting AC for the last 6-7 weeks, a few casinos (namely Resorts and Golden Nugget, and to a lesser extent Trump TAJ)  really seem to notice my absence and they all significanlty increased my monthly offers despite my not having played much in the last couple months!!!I have comped rooms Thru the end of MARCH all seven days of the week at GN  and RESORTS and TAJ!!!     And a daily free buffet at GN Sunday thru Thursday!   Plus Resorts increased my free slot play from $25 per day to $50......I think AC is starting to get a clue as to how to attract people they feel MIGHT be ignoring them, even though in my case it is not due to me taking my business elsewhere......HAS ANYONE ELSE noticed or received increased "stuff" from AC lately>???   Jimdeuces???  anything from Borgata you were not expecting?    I myself have not received anything "EXTRA" from Borgata, but I have received MORE reminders and flyers from them telling me about the benefits I already have, as if they really are trying to stay in their customers' minds.      But Borgata, for me anyway, is NOT a place I want to stay at......I only want to PLAY there (and mostly poker since they have the best poker room by far.)      But one sidenote to consider:   Golden Nugget has some really GREAT values in terms of POKER Tournaments each day, with Guaranteed Prize Pools ranging from $2500 all the way to 10 grand!!!   For a minimal investment (like around 55 bucks)  a player can enter these events that offer decent payouts without the pressure and competition that Borgata features!

My husband and I go regularly to AC. Lost our Diamond status two years ago when we stopped spending the rent (that's a story for another time)But we still go at least twice a month. But we haven't been there since the beginning of December - Holidays, weather, illness... Bally's (where we always stay) just sent us $4.00 coupons. $4.00!!!!!
What does one do with a $4.00 coupon? Don't get me wrong, they sent me a $4.00 coupon for each week in February. That's got to total a good $16 - $20 dollars for the month!
Vacation is the week after Valentines Day. Don't know if I can handle all that extra money...

Unfortunately I will not be in Atlantic City at that time but for everyone who may be there during that time I wish them nothing but the best.

kmartin, what a great story. you may need an investment advisor for that new found wealth.  had the same thing happen a couple of years ago. it was a CET AC casino. i mailed it back and told them it was too much for me to handle. it was one the few times the casino actually called me, wanting to know why i sent it back. i told them the same thing you stated, what good is this? thought i might prod them into sending me more. NOPE, never heard back, but did continue to get the same lousy offers. and, it was a property i had lot a bunch of money at. one of the reasons i despise all CET AC properties. they give one the impression they are doing you a favor.
