I'm a big deuces wild fan, and I was curious if while I was walking around a casino, if the payout schedules for JOB was good, would it be a correct assumption that that would be the same for all games on game king like Deuces Wild?
Do players typically walk around with payout odds on a note or something?
The iPad app is awesome by the way, perfect.

I wouldn't make that assumption. The casino could have JOB as there top returning game and DW as the lowest, who knows? Plus, just because it's a game king doesn't mean every game king in the casino have the same pay out schedules.1 machine may offer 9/6 JOB and another just around the corner could be 8/6. Always check, never assume.

Personally I have a little notebook that fits in a shirt pocket. I have a list of payback% for a few games and I will write down the ones I'm not familiar with and check them when I get home. I'm sure a smart phone would work just as well if not better?
Once you start getting familiar with the different pay tables ,it get's a lot easier to go through a game menu and see what games have the best returns.

Not necessarily, but I would say there is a mild positive correlation in my experience. It definitely is the case at my two nearest casinos. The full pay JoB games at the two nearest casinos by me offer full pay Bonus Deuces Wild as well (99.45%). Neither of those machine banks offer regular deuces.
As for the notebook...I don't use one. I have most of the damn tables memorized by now...
If you see full pay 9/6 JoB, you should hope to find one of these pay schedules for deuces. Note: Payouts listed below begin with wild royal and end with a flush.
25/16/10/4/4/3 = 99.73%
or
25/15/9/4/4/3 = 98.91% (more likely of the two)
Any game with a wild royal of 20 is below 98% and I would consider "not good".
There is one common paytable that has a wild royal of 25 that is below 97%:
25/16/13/4/3/2 = 96.77%

I guess I have most of the paytables memorized too for the games I play. I am a deuces wild fan too, but unfortunately on those days where the quad deuces do not pop up, the session is a guaranteed loser. Likewise on 9/6 job, an absence of quads in a session or only a couple of quads guarantees the same thing. I don't like to walk around carrying anything in a casino. I have enough trouble carrying myself around sometimes. Check out Fla Phil's one coin cheap vp system to keep losses down and have a shot sometimes at a home run. Phil has a link attached to his posts.

I used to keep a spreadsheet paper with pay tables now my iphone has "9/6 Pay Tables" software from this site to check both single hand and multiple hand pay tables. I also use WinPoker where I can not only create User Added pay tables but it allows me to analyze hands.

I keep paytables and payback percentages for every game and denomination offered at my local casino on a piece of paper tucked into my wallet. It is also on a spreadsheet on the computer to make for clean and easy updating . I suppose I could, or should look into putting it on my phone now that I think about it

I play deuces wild exclusively and by now have all the common pay tables memorized. I use Dancer's VPW to check out any games I don't recognize. The game strategy often changes with different pay schedules. It is very common to find machines with a wide array of pay tables in the same casino. It's worth spending some time scouting as there are usually a few better paying machines scattered around. I think the casinos do this intentionally and sometimes it's a mistake. Always check out any brand or type of machine that you don't recognize. Sometimes you can find a good pay schedule hidden inside a multigame machine. Scouting is fun...

I do not visit a large number of casinos, but if it is a new one, I usually do research on which best two games the casinos may have. Ideally I will look for a good JoB or Deuces game, then DDB or Bonus Poker (Deluxe or Regular).Rather than writing down the paytables for every possible game, if I were to go blind and not have access to paytable I am accustomed to, I will just go on the smartphone and go online (if the casino offers free wifi, ill use that) to check the WizardOfOdds website for their extensive video poker section.. Their games section lists out all the common paytables and the return percentage. I will use the strategy calculator to get the basic strategy and play that as best I possibly can. I will have no expectation to meet close the most optimal returnUsually I will come prepared before my visit to the casino.Using the same strategy between two paytables may not be as optimal. If there are no good games that return at least 98%, I will settle for some (not a whole lot) slots or the table games.
