super times poker

Post by fairwayray »

I personally do no tlike this game. It seems that whenever a times pops up, which is very rarely, I never have a decent hand and have never had anything dealt to me on a multiplier more than a pair. Yet I see the winning scores and am amazed. I do not doubt the veracity of the games, just wonder I never seem to be able to hit anything with a multiplier. Does any one else feel like I do?  If it is the daily or weekly game, I usually do not even play.

Dry streaks in this game is tough. Go 30 in a row without a multiplier, you just feel like you are throwing that extra credit away. But every once in a great while it will spit out a big win.

sadly that's only a 1 in 144 occurrence. But yeah I would be ticked if it happened to me and I noticed in the casino.

This game has an extremely high variance and will eat up your bankroll in nothing flat.   In my opinion, the only way to win at this game is to throw in a couple of bucks, get dealt a Royal or quad with a big multiplier and run out of the casino as fast as you can.   It's fun to play for free, but I would never play it for very long unless I just didn't give a damn about the results.

In Vegas until recently, the Gold Coast had 25c Five Play 9/6 Jacks STP. This was a 99.82% game, and Emerald players received 0.3% every day --- with occasional multipliers and monthly mailers. This was the highest returning game for those stakes. The games were very popular and it was often a struggle to get a seat on the machines.Yes it had a fairly high variance.Yes these players had to fade losing streaks when they played the game. But most knew the primary reason to play the game was the EV --- not the variance.EV doesn't get mentioned very frequently on this site --- but to me it's often the single most important variable in choosing which game to play (given the stakes are appropriate.)

Speaking of super times pay, there is an announcement for the mega progressive state wide super times pay.

http://www.multivu.com/players/English/ ... deo-poker/

Requires a 10x multiplier and a natural royal flush hit at $1 denomination to claim the progressive. Not sure of other details.

Good to hear that you got reinstated at the Boyd properties after that story in the past with hitting multiple Royal Flushes on Bonus Deluxe with the Point Multiplier day.

Though 9/6 JoB with STP may not be at Gold Coast, I've seen people play the full pay Double Bonus Deuces Wild which also has high variance and a similar optimal long run return of 99.81%. Not sure if that is even around.

I would think it would be quite challenging for members here the non local in Vegas or any other nationwide location Boyd has a casino to maintain 250,000 points ($250,000 coin in) on a 6 month sliding window for Emerald membership. Sapphire is doable at 25,000 points on a 6 month sliding window for infrequent Vegas visitors. Point multiplier days at 7x are limited to 10,000 base points, I think they only happen during holidays.

At least Southpoint provides 0.3% right off the bat without any steep requirements.

Details posted on VPFree Forums regarding to this Super Times Pay progressive seen at Golden Nugget
"I found the new STP progressives at the Golden Nugget LV
(linked with the Golden Nugget Atlantic City). There are four
uprights between Starbucks and the Rush Lounge with 25c 3
play and four on the other side of the bank with $1 3 play.

According to the rules, to get the progressive you must be
playing max bet of 18 coins and get a royal with a 10x
multiplier. No mention in the rules that it must be a dealt
royal. You can only win the progressive once with each play.

The paytables are ones like 8/5 DB (94.19%) and 6/5 DDB
(94.66%)."
