DB, "measly little VP" is relative. Your play is still probably ten times my coin in. What are we talking about?Well, I always play 25 cent and always max coin, so start with that......at Borgata my video poker play is as measly as my LIVE poker play allows it to be.....if I am having good success in the poker room, I will NOT be playing much VP obviously.   But if I crap out in tournaments early, or if the cash table is suddenly surrounded by Sharks or players who I feel are stronger than myself, I play MORE VP (potentially) at Borgata.I'm all over the map in AC, since I manage to play at least a little bit in every casino except the Trop these days, and I try to play just enough to get the comp room benefits since that is really the only comp benefit I ever truly want or care about.

I am mainly Caesars, with Borgata and Harrah's when I'm feeling footloose. Lately I have been on a reckless kick, with over 25% max betting. The end is surely nigh.

The Borgata raised the room tax $10 dollars per night at the beginning of this year. Now the tax for me (as a black card holder ) is $15 per night.Titanium card holders are comped for the room tax..

I was at the Borgata over Thanksgiving weekend. They raised the room fees up to $20 per night. I don't know if the Titanium players have to pay for this.

This last trip to Caesars AC I was charged a $3 NJ room Fee/State Tax and a $2 AC tourism Fee for each night. $10 total for 2 nights.

Last Time I was there this past summer (circa Late July/first week of  August)  it was 10 bucks per night, and I only had the basic standard "normal" player card.....since I no longer regularly visit AC I have no clue what the most recent (i.e. the past 30 days) rates are at any of the remaining AC joints, but you can expect them to increase given the current economic trends and consumer attitudes.

I know we touched on this previously in other threads, but NOW, in Atlantic City, the CET properties (Ballys, CAesars  and Harrahs)  all are now charging 25 bucks a night (up from 13) for a line item called "Resort/Other" fees.....This is, no doubt, a DIRECT result of their financial predicament and bankruptcy, as they are grasping anywhere and everywhere for additional short term revenue. And to ass insult to injury, they now also charge "Taxes" on this 25/night "fee".......unreal.So now, my "FREE" 2 night stay in AC at a CET property only costs $55.60!!!    hahhaa arrrgh This makes Resorts-AC, the Golden Nugget, and Tropicana somewhat more attractive in that they still "only" charge 10 bucks a night for a "free" room!    I think Borgata might alos stll only be 10 bucks but I'm not 100% sure.    Taj Mahal is 15 bucks a night

Not so. We just got back from a mini-vacay in AC and stayed at the Trop. Our "free" room cost $48 a night. We were in a hurry to check out and didn't even look at the bill until we got home. Crazy, right?

The good news was that I hit a royal. The bad news was that they seem to have taken half the video poker games off the main floor, and the ones I did play were dead. I wound up playing on the first floor where there's smoking. I felt like I was sitting in a huge ash tray, but again, the good news was that I hit the royal, and then was dealt 4 Aces and then got a kicker. It was a profitable visit, but I wish they wouldn't have removed all those poker machines from the main poker area on the main floor. Has anyone noticed that the casinos are removing poker machines, to be replaced by those HUGE penny machines that take up so much room?
