Re: Resort fees at CET AC properties...
I know we touched on this previously in other threads, but NOW, in Atlantic City, the CET properties (Ballys, CAesars  and Harrahs)  all are now charging 25 bucks a night (up from 13) for a line item called "Resort/Other" fees.....This is, no doubt, a DIRECT result of their financial predicament and bankruptcy, as they are grasping anywhere and everywhere for additional short term revenue. And to ass insult to injury, they now also charge "Taxes" on this 25/night "fee".......unreal.So now, my "FREE" 2 night stay in AC at a CET property only costs $55.60!!!    hahhaa arrrgh This makes Resorts-AC, the Golden Nugget, and Tropicana somewhat more attractive in that they still "only" charge 10 bucks a night for a "free" room!    I think Borgata might alos stll only be 10 bucks but I'm not 100% sure.    Taj Mahal is 15 bucks a night

Not so. We just got back from a mini-vacay in AC and stayed at the Trop. Our "free" room cost $48 a night. We were in a hurry to check out and didn't even look at the bill until we got home. Crazy, right?

The good news was that I hit a royal. The bad news was that they seem to have taken half the video poker games off the main floor, and the ones I did play were dead. I wound up playing on the first floor where there's smoking. I felt like I was sitting in a huge ash tray, but again, the good news was that I hit the royal, and then was dealt 4 Aces and then got a kicker. It was a profitable visit, but I wish they wouldn't have removed all those poker machines from the main poker area on the main floor. Has anyone noticed that the casinos are removing poker machines, to be replaced by those HUGE penny machines that take up so much room?
Around these parts most casinos are just changing the games offered and eliminating denominations. There are still plenty of vp machines but most sit empty, it's like the casinos are daring you to play. I walked around to where the poker machines are and found one person playing something called Barnyard Video Poker for .05. I went to another casino and walked into the high limit room where no one was playing, not a single person, that same casino used to be full of people playing $5 denomination vp at max play. All the $5 players I know play at one casino, they have the same pay tables but all of them will tell you they do far better there than any of the other casinos.
