 i read CNBC.COM, everyday and had seen this article. what is interesting are many of the posts. keep in mind, the posters are 'business' minded folks, more so than gamblers. lots of negative comments about loveman and many question whether vegas has improved that much, since the economic crash. may be more vistors, but less being spent by each of those visitors. not a casino expert, but i keep wondering how a growing crowd of young drinkers is supposed to replace a dwindling crowd of folks banging on a machine. would think the net profit from gambling would be much higher than drinking.

Casino revenue should come from the negative expectation games, though it has been tried and true method for years until the Native Indian tribes gained the rights to gaming more than  a decade ago. The night clubs do gross tens of millions of dollars, but that wont nearly cover the expense it takes to run a casino. Vegas had to do something different to try to keep itself alive, it must find more ideas imo.The young drinkers have small bankrolls for slots and mostly play craps, blackjack, or bacarrat. Some of them take a pot shot at roulette (e.g. all in on RED) or at the pai gow poker table where they can get so much free alcohol since the play pace is slow due to so many pushes on the bet.
