I read on another forum that the Venetian Hotel removed all their Video Poker? Can anyone confirm this?

Last time I visited sat down to a vp machine in the high limit. Put in a hundred went to DDB and read the pay table. 5 coin in $1. Royal $1250. NO THANKS.

NO THANKS. huh?    Was this a 10 coin max paytable?   I hope so, otherwise this represents the final, most egregious step in the virtual "slot-ification"  of video poker, where casinos attempt to remove any and all inherent difference between VP and most typical slot-type games on the floor.......by slashing the Royal payout from the all important 800 to 1  to the standard ratio for all other hands, the game of VP loses all attractiveness except to the most simple and mundane of VP players (with the exception of solid  less-than-max players like Florida phil who INTENTIONALLY surrender the max coin royal payout in favor of their preferred strategy...)My fear is that once a casino like Venetian (or someone of similar stature and reknown) takes the "plunge" and becomes the first to do this (i.e.  sets the precedent)  it then becomes easier for many others to follow suit......Shortsighted, cynical GREED is the death knell for both casino companies, and for regular casino/VP players.....

VP on the Strip in my experience, you might as well stay in the airport and play there.

As least the airport is non-smoking I guess.
