Re: Questions About Tunica MS?

Post by Vman96 »

I now live 4 hours from tunica. So any weekend is possible.

So nothing better than 9/6 job? Vman - I need you to find me something a little better....

For CET, unfortunately not. Roadhouse got torched in April 2013, they used to have 40/10/6 DDB (99.96%) and 99.96% Deuces. But I did forget to mention for the last God knows how long, Roadhouse offers a 3X point multiplier every day if you swipe at their kiosk, so that's an extra 0.2% back than normal on RCs. I can't speak as to how generous mailers are. I don't play enough to get any, but that's usually standard for me at CET as a whole.

The only game with significantly better base return left in Tunica is 8/5 Super Aces (99.94%) at Fitzgerald's for dollars. Do you like coindroppers?

So the roadhouse still has 3x multipliers?   That's pretty good on a 99.54% game. Unfortunately it would take a lot of time to get 2,500 RCs in a day (to get a good bonus)

What are coindroppers?

Machines that (still) drop dollar coins for wins, instead of paying tickets. And they can't change the paytable without creating a new payglass. It's a machine that's probably been there forever. Have you never seen/played one of these? My first trip to Tunica when I was 24 in 2004, the former Harrah's (now Resorts) was full of coin-droppers. Are you possibly younger than me, or newer to slots/VP? I'm 35 now...

And yeah, it's humanly impossible to get the 2500 Tier Credit bonus on the 9/6 JoB progressive alone likely. Unless you can play ~1100 hands/hr for 24 hours straight.

FloridaPhil, I live in Memphis and game in Tuncia often and would be glad to be of help. There is nothing to do in Tunica but it only takes about 40 minutes to drive to Memphis, all four lane roads.  I do not recommend staying at Bally's.  The Horseshoe, Gold Strike, Roadhouse, Hollywood are nicer hotels.  The Fitz remodeled their rooms a couple of years ago and is also nice.  Over the years I have met many folks from around the country and many have told me that they called ahead of time and spoke with representatives of the casinos and explained that they were planning a trip from out of state and were able to get their rooms comped especially if they were staying several days, also got some free buffets.  So give it a try to save a few dollars.  The VP games at Gold Strike, Roadhouse have more types of games.  The VP games at the Fitz, Balleys, Sams Town, Hollywood, Horseshoe are the mostly basic VP games.  In all honesty I find that by VP gaming budget goes further at the Fitz, but they are limited as to the number of machines.  Only about 10 VP free standing machines then about 15 total at the 2 bars.  On weekends and holidays it can get crowded at night.  Weekdays no problem, day or evening.  As for other activities for breaks from playing, Graceland and Beale Street are well known.  Also free tours are given at St. Jude Childrens Hospital every day and is a special experience I always recommend as a must for Memphis. Also the Bar B Que at many places in Memphis is also worth the drive.  (sound like a Chamber of Commerce spokeperson!)

I'm older than you, and I remember machines with coins in my early visits, but I haven't seen any in 10+ years. Those machines were fun. A win felt like a win back then, and your hands got dirty and I loved those buckets and buying rolls of quarters from the cashier. But I never heard the term coindropper.

Based on your description, tunica doesn't sound very appealing at least from a vp standpoint.

I enjoyed this myself. My g/f was hoping for a much more detailed tour as she reads up on these kids. I also bought a St. Jude t-shirt that I usually wear one day on every Tunica trip that's not in the winter. If you see a guy wearing one in a Tunica casino, it's probably me, so don't be afraid to say hello.

Stopped in at Roadhouse yesterday, got my clocked cleaned again. Since the machines went in I've only managed one hand pay playing $2 denomination at max, no question this is one tough place to play.

I was there last month and it was brutal. Try the old style machines in front of the VIP bar. They have 2 tucked in a corner where nobody can see them. I didn't win anything but they at least let me play for a while on the 2nd day. 1st day I played the new machines before I found the old machines and it was comical. I know I blew $100 on 3 separate occasions with nothing more than 2 pair.
