i like silver legacy fpdw 25c or any places with fpdw  I have read that it was pulled.  There is a law in Reno against a positive machine-the law of greed.  Great airport shuttle service, though.

Reno was a fun time. Won lots, lost more and have taxes to pay. Husband was ahead with black jack. We receive offers of "free" rooms from casinos including Vegas, Laughlin, AC, as many of you do. These get filed until expiration date. Once, we stayed six nights free between Paris, Laughlin over a weekend and Luxor. We stayed four nights "courtesy" Harrahs in Reno. We used mailed offer extras of $200 free play (!) and 5X comps good for one day play at Sienna and booked into fantastic annual CLAM FEED at Atlantis, the night before. These extras appeared as contingent on staying there but they honored them, to our surprise. Next casino trip I will take all current offers for that area and find out which are accepted. Two tickets to Improv were included with our Harrahs package. This was not playing and Harrah's gave out two $20 meal vouchers. Similarly in Tunica when our Harrah's charter "free" flight was hours late, Harrah's compensated with meal and play vouchers. We appreciated their attitude!

Hello all,

I know I'm streching this but I'm going to lake tahoe in a few days and because most of you go to reno im hoping you my go to lake tahoe also?
I'm staying at harrahs but I don't know the best place for vp , I like 100 play and  quarter triple play.  How would have the best machines for me?
I did see some mention Bills.   Its smoke free and it would be easier to get my wife to go there.   Thanks every one    paul

All,

If you're looking for good VP in either Reno or LV, try looking at these sites:

URL: http://www.cheapotravel.com/reno/index.php
 or
URL: http://www.cheapovegas.com/index.php

If you use the 'Hotel Search' function, you can find some outstanding VP casinos to play at.  I can tell you from personal experience that the information can be a little old, but accurate.

I also use the 'Find A Game' function on this site to locate casinos with lots of the Action Gaming/Leading Edge Design games my wife and I like to play.

This is what  I've discovered during my preparation for an upcoming LV trip:

El Cortez on the old strip is the best all-around deal (cheap food, great VP, good craps, decent variety of VP machines).

LV Hilton has best VP and good variety of mahines.

Wynn has best variety and better than average VP, but pricey.

It will be interesting to see if my research is accurate.  I'll let you know.  If anyone is a LV resident, please give us your insights.

It's a little different for locals. We get different offers than non-locals which can make a big difference in which casinos are best. At the Boyd and Stations properties locals get quite a bit of BB cash and multipliers. Since rooms are not that useful those kinds of offers are meaningless. Location is also important to many locals. Long drives in Vegas traffic requires a good reason to visit a casino. For example, it's a long drive downtown for me. Finally, the denomination one plays can also be important.

Given these kinds of factors there are many casinos that a local might find preferable. I play primarily at Sam's Town, Fiesta Henderson, Tuscany and South Point. However, there are other casinos I might play if I played more or I was located in a different part of town.

Shadow, you don't play at the GVR? I know it's a Station property but there are many positive or near positive games there and the location is ideal for you. Not enough in the CB/BB column for your taste? Just being nosey.

The reduction in points I can earned on full pay games ($4 = 1 point) reduces the advantage below what I can get at other casinos. Part of this consideration is BB is determined by the number of points earned and it would take much longer to achieved the better BB levels at GVR.

I'll be heading to Tahoe in a couple weeks and from all I've found at Cheapo site, Bill's has the best pay tables.  I'll be staying at Harveys but plan on doing most of my VP play at Bills. Because of the paytables and being smoke-free.
Craps and BJ, I'll play anywhere that's going good.

We'll be renting a car for at least 1 day, any ideas of good spots to drive for scenery and good gambling?

Won't be doing anything in the hiking or skiing aspect - recent hernia surgery kind of prevents that!

Thanks
