First, Reno Peppermill --- Circus Circus, Harras Reno, and Atlantis

I have had a ton of luck at peppermill. Too many Royals and super aces to count -- as well as 2,3,4 w/kicker on TDBP, and Dealt Super Aces ..

They have numerous 99-100% full pay games, with great atmosphere, comps, and contests/cash giveways.

Circus Circus --- Definately a "middle-class" casino, but tons of full pay , including one row of full-pay nickels on every game --

I have only gambled there for the equivelent of 1 yr or so, playing no more than 1-2 times a month, but have had more hits than I can count. Started to go there when peppermill luck seemed to "dry out" a bit, and comps seemed not to be as good.

Great cashback program, solid comps, and friendly service .. If you are all about the gambling, perfect place .. Great for the kids .. if you about glamour and style, stay away!

Atlantis ... Very glamourous casino -- -better than peppermill . At one point, they had 10/7 DBP ... I personally have had terrible luck there, but the service, atmosphere, quility of scenery, comps are the best

Harrahs reno .. I was diamond with Harrahs, with most play in reno. Nice atmosphere, but comps are way behind the competition, and I have noticed a significant lack of full pay VP as opposed to the previously mentioned casinos!

Good luck!

I'll be heading to Tahoe in a couple weeks and from all I've found at Cheapo site, Bill's has the best pay tables.  I'll be staying at Harveys but plan on doing most of my VP play at Bills. Because of the paytables and being smoke-free.
Craps and BJ, I'll play anywhere that's going good.

Hi, 7come11,
If you don't mind my asking...
How was your recent trip to Tahoe?  Did you like the VP at Bill's?  Were the VP paytables as good as expected?

How about craps - Were you able to get on a decent run anywhere?

Cheers,
Q

Hi, kmarsullo32,
Thanks so much for your post!
I, too, have become disenchanted with Harrah's Reno (and H/H Tahoe) since they’ve seriously downgraded both their comps and VP paytables. (The current batch of mail out offers that are enroute in the mail are WAY downgraded - yikes!)
I used to go to Reno/Tahoe about 3 times a year, but lately I’m going about once a month. However, I have no interest in giving Harrah’s any more of my stay&play money than necessary in order to use up my remaining comps. (And when those are gone, so am I!!  )
So I’ve been trying to figure out where to take my play when in Reno.
In the interim I’ve been playing at J.A.’s Nugget in Sparks, which has adequate comps and VP, but, the rooms/suites are just not to my liking, and they just keep seriously screwing up stuff at check in, check out, etc., etc...,  so I‘ve got to find someplace else to take my action.
Which is why I am so glad you posted what you did above! I’ve been hearing really good things about the Pep and Atlantis lately, and have been thinking that I really should go check out one or both soon. So, now I am definitely going to do it!!
Woo-hoo!  I love trying out new casinos - especially if they have potential for becoming a fave place to stay & play.
Does anyone else here have any input on either the Peppermill or the Atlantis in Reno? I figure I’ll be going back to Reno in a few weeks and am trying to decide which one of the two I should stay at.  Any additional input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much,
Q

We usually sta at the Peppermill in Reno a couple of times a year.    2 nights comped each time.  I've had good luck and bad luck playing there.  The rooms are clean and comfortable.  Usually have coupons for 2 for one meals.  And most times free play of some denomination.  Our last trip in May we also had 2 nights comped at Atlantis.  I wasn't very impressed.  I think maybe it was the type of people playing there.  Also the whole building smelled of stale smoke.  Never that smell at peppermill.

QWe also stayed at Harrah's with no complaints but found EL DORADO and SIENA were generous with W2Gs and had no luck anywhere else. However, there were several casinos we did not visit.

Thanks for the info, Marie!
I have stayed and played at the Eldorado before, but it's been several years since I've been back.

I have heard good things about the Siena (in June of this year the wizard of odds even said on his website that it is his favorite casino in Reno).  The Siena advertises that they have 10x odds on craps, single zero roulette, and 4oak bonuses, cash back, etc.  So, altho I haven't been there yet, it is definitely on my "casinos to do" list.  <Sigh>  So many casinos, so little time!

We stayed and ate at Harrah's on comps and enjoyed their hospitality on both visits. It's an older casino and it's not fair to compare with the newest casinos on the Vegas strip. I felt comfortable everywhere during the day and preferred not to go casino hopping at night by myself. This last sentence could probably apply to every gambling town, for me. The public library was nearby, within walking distance and I used their computers when they opened in the morning. Guards were on duty there and appeared to be escorting some homeless out doors. Unfortunately, one can encounter this almost anywhere. There are so many other casino meccas between here and there that are more convenient and less expensive for us to visit from MI. We would go again if a super air fare bit us again. We enjoyed the tour at the RAILROAD MUSEUM at Carson City. Lake Tahoe is very beautiful and nice casinos exist there as well.It appears you have discovered the very useful search feature on this site to see what other forum members have posted in the past re destinations, etc.
