Mohegan Sun is the only place I play. I find the machines are cold for many hours and then real hot for just a few minutes. I also find if you bet just one unit, you can get ahead just a little on almost every machine you play. Hmmmm ....I also hit almost no Royals there in hundreds of thousands of hands. I hit deuces quads about on schedule. I think they use a controled rng program, but have no proof. Only basing this on the millions of hands I have played there. I have not had a W-2G since last October and play there 2-4 days a week for many hours each session. Mostly playing quarters 5 or more at a time. This pattern has been going on to some extent since 2011 at least for me. It feels like something is wrong with the machines, but I can't put my finger quite on it or of course have no proof. I can play on the site here for fun or Wolf vp for fun and stay right around even just like it should be. I play mostly 99% paytables except for the Double Down Stud game in limited amounts which in just under 98%. Most play though is on the 99% machines. I should only be losing about 5 thousand a year playing that way based on my total coin in, not 10 times that amount. This year, like you posted, if I hit and run from a machine, or play a single coin at a time, I do much better. Believe me, I wish I could get a better handle on how the programs work in those machines.

olds if u had to guess what do u think is the actual average payout currently on Mohegan vp machines?i know what the % payback should be based on paytables but you and I both know its nowhere near that..my guess is somewhere in the 40-60% range..on my last trip w/300.00 which lasted 53 minutes it included 40.00 worth on DDB..9/6 machine a quarter at a time..slant top machine in sky casino facing high limit blackjack and roulette area...thats 160 hands flat excluding winning hands..it took just under 12 minutes on turbo speed and 182 hands later the 40.00 was gone..i could only laugh at those results..

find that when you hit a good hand its best to get off that machineAmen. That's my MO! Quad and Cash Out. AC, CT, wherever. Of course it's hard enough just hitting the damn quad in the first place. Most people that stick around fall right back in the well. I'd rather go elsewhere. Anywhere.

40.00 worth on DDB.52 Skidoo! You actually lasted an extra minute. All the calculations say that a quarter 9/6 JOB should lose $13/hour. On a cold machine it's triple that! If it takes a $20 in record time, it's clearly time to move out. Of course, having the willpower to do so is another matter. That's my problem.

Short term total return can be anything. In my experience since late in 2010 with over 5 million hands played at Mohegan Sun, vp return seems to be in the 94-96% range. Prior to 2010, total returns were in the 98-99.5 % range just as they should be depending on what paytable you were playing and how accurate your play was. There definitely seems to be many more premium hands hit with 1 or 2 units bet on all games that I have played. That way, if this is really the case for everyone and all machines, they can say the returns are within paytable guidelines. Simple...adjust the program to hit much more at 1 or 2 units bet and less to make up for that at 5 or more units bet. Again just a guess on my part based on my experience only. It also appears to me that most of the die hard vp players have left Mohegan Sun for elsewhere. They continue to put in very glitzy penny machines where you can play three to 5 bucks a hand. They realy clean up on those. Those machines are very attractive to the locals, weekend crowd, convention people, and I really hate to say this, but people that just aren't too smart or educated. There are some huge hits on these machines. Of course when they do hit, they attract a large crowd. I think the returns long term on these machines run in the 88-92% range. I have a good friend who a couple of years ago stayed way ahead of them playing these machines because he was lucky hitting jackpots. This year, he can go through a thousand bucks in less than an hour. When he was way ahead, he wouldn't listen to me about the long term probability of beating these machines. Now he has quit playing and dropped from a level 4 player to level 1. They did eventually get all of their money back from him and more. Any new vp machines I see them put in seem to have some of the newer games with very high paying premium hands with multipliers etc. Based on the paytables, these machines are running in the 94-96% range. I haven't seen any new machines installed with the traditional 99% games like job, deuces, ddb etc. Those that are left are getting to be pretty beat up due to the many years of service and sometimes poor maintenance. The bar machines in particular are really beat up due to the constant spilled drinks, fist slammers, etc.

I am highly cognizant of the fact that my Jan. $1000 Royal Flush and more will be flushed right back to Caesars in the subsequent eleven months of 2015. The VP giveth and the VP taketh away. The only way to avoid fate is to take $20 a week with me and call 2015 break even. Or take my play to Trop and get more comp bang for the buck. You just can't win long term. Bloody Mary, please!
