I posted this on May 25.--
I was at the Borgata for the weekend. I notice they removed 8 VP
machines and replaced them with penny machines. On Friday I saw the
asst. Casino manager or slots and poker machines. I told him if keeps
taking out the VP machines I'll have to stay in PA. and play. He assured
me that they won't be taking anymore VP machines out. He said they
are putting in more penny machine in because the make the most money off
them. The terminology he used is " They have the largest hold " meaning
money. They want to bring in as much money as they can. The next
step I'm waiting for is for them to start lowering the pay tables like
CET did.The reinvestment of machines they are doing are the 1¢ machines that make the most money for them..

if you owned a casino and could make 8-15% or make 2-5%, what woulld you choose? i really do not think it is any more complicated than that.

They did a nice job in remodeling the buffet. Are you near Hartford CT. ??    http://www.flyborgata.com/index.html

Hey Jimdueces, I'm about 30 minutes from Hartford but those prices for the flights are very expensive. Getting there that quick would be amazing but way too expensive for my wallet. Do you know of anyone that has taken one of those flights?

No, I don't know of anyone who has taken one of those flights. I agree those flights are costly. I rather put that money towards my bankroll of my gambling money. OH WOW, I just notice on the Borgata's website that they will be having 10x slot dollars on July 2. It looks like I have to change my reservation.

I think anticipated volume of play has to be considered, as well.

Fifteen percent of $100,000 is not as good as two percent of $1,000,000.

excuse me, but i believe your numbers are reversed. play at slots (8-15% hold) is much higher than that of VP (2-5%).

I just checked out the fly Borgata site and called them. They have a contact person at Mohegan Sun and will get back to me in a few days on my cost if any to fly down there from Hartford. I only had to give them name and dob. Interesting to see what their response will be. Would be a nice diversion since the wife will be off most of the summer. I'll post back if anything worthwhile develops.

Great One....I just checked out your trip report and it looks real nice down there. Borgata just got back to me and based on my play at Mohegan Sun, their offer for the flight from Hartford is $ 369 per person and that includes transportation and room for 2 nights. Doesn't sound too bad to me. They also said based on my play down there, future offers could be much less or even comped. Maybe in July the wife and I will be able to get down there. I could also use my Mohegan Sun offers at Resorts Casino I guess and stay there and drive over to Borgata. Haven't driven down to A/C in many years, but I think once I hit the Garden State, my car will still know the way. . If anyone is interested, I can post the name and contact number for the person at Borgata who got back to me. I will ask them first if OK, but I would think it would be.

Is that price a flight from FLY BORGATA or Mohegan Sun on another airline?

That is the Fly Borgata price. The gal said the retail price is about 700 bucks. I just also found out that based on my Mohegan play, my rooms will be comped Sun-Thurs at Resorts due to the partnership they have with Mohegan. If I go, I will probably split my time or maybe make a couple of trips if things are OK at home.

I heard back again from the host at Borgata. She also sent me an email with flight info. I explained to her just the basics about our site here and the forum in a couple of sentences. Her reply was our flight promotions are geared toward just slot players. I was too taken back by that statement to even ask her if they consider vp a slot, but I guess they don't. I guess that tells you where we all stand when it comes to the casinos. They want those 85-91% returns period and are not content with our 95-97% returns.
I think the funny and sad part is that most vp players probably give up more money long term than the slot players because of the hours we put in. I guess some actuary doesn't like to make money that way. They want is all and in the first hour or so of play.
