Re: Borgata trip 5/25-5/29
I won as much at Caesars that morning. I also won at Bally's after departing Borgata. But I may do just as well for myself by playing all Borgata, all the time. I felt like the Teflon Gambler. It took about fifteen minutes before a machine became available. The low denom quarter side of the bar is certainly competitive. I had never played at any bar top. I thought the drinks were list price and declined! SMH. I had one on the floor later. Now I have a feel for the venue and ground rules. Much quieter than floor, where you really have to tune out the distractions. Evenings may still be a mad house. Only downside is the round trip jitney time and expense from boardwalk home base.

Realized I never responded to DB's question on paytable for SDB. Sometimes I get too caught up in my work and don't stay current on threads. It's 9/5 for full houses and flushes and is a 99.69% payback. All of the machines at the B Bar have them, at least the ones I've looked at, but yes, sticky buttons and smoke are a problem.

Also on 4 Game Kings that are uprights not far from the buffet. These are uncomfortable on your back, chairs are fixed too far from buttons, so it's one thing or another.

I can play maybe an hour max on those before I get weary of the monotonous full arm extension routine! But hey, they're full pay so the masses will eat the casino's crap with extra mustard.

If you see a 60 yr old guy standing up and playing, that's probably me. 5'7 gray ( ok white) hair.

After a couple of hours my shoulders and the back of my neck will start to hurt.

Always take 2 Aleves before I start to play. As they say it's a ***** getting old for a vp player.

Posted this on another thread, but a woman who frequents the Borg hit 2 $4,000 royals on Friday afternoon on the bank I was playing. One from a two card hold and one from a one card hold. What are the odds of that?

$8000 for hanging out and having a good time is nirvana. Especially off those holds. If you arrived before her, do you regret your machine selection? I know you have to bet at the precise nanosecond of fate, but still. SDB is far too esoteric for me. It even sounds like I'd lose a ton at it.

No regrets, she is a nice lady am I am happy for her. As you said, it wouldn't have mattered anyway.
