double or nothing feature?
You know that feature where you can bet your winnings on a hand of war? I have never been able to find a machine in a casino which offers that. As far as I can tell, it's exclusive to online versions, but I figure there has to be some casino machines that offer this.

it is on all machines and can be turned on or off at the casino option. Sometimes a casino will accommodate a "good" player (i.e. one that loses a lot) and turn it on if requested. There has been a thread over at vpFREE for the past week on this. My Tuesday blog for June 9 blog addresses times when using the feature generates positive EV.Bob

Mohegan Sun offers the Double up feature on most of their vp machines including the 99.54% ones. It can be turned on or off at will. I never use it myself, but I know some people who use it only when they get Jacks or Better on their prior hand and try and double up 3 or 4 times before bailing out. If they lose, they have only lost in actual cash the value of their last bet they made before they doubled up.

I hit that button by accident once. Lost 500 quarters! I always check to make sure that's not what I'm playing now. This was at the Seneca casino in Niagara Falls NY if you're still looking for one.

Mystic Lake casino in Prior Lake Minnesota offers the double up on all of their poker machines. They used to offer on the double up red or black card instead of higher cards.

I actually found one when I went to Windsor. I don't think I used it, but like I said, it's a nice feature to have (just as long as I don't end up accidently throwing away a royal lol).

some machines in AC (like resorts for instance) make it very easy to hit the double up by accident, simply by the location of the button in proximity to other commonly hit buttons (like deal/draw) and the fifth card hold button!I already told you about the poor old guy who by accident hit double up after getting four 2,3,4s with a kicker on DDB 25 cent.........he wanted to cashout his 200 bucks win, but somehow hit double up and then sat there for 15 minutes agonizing what to do......management was no help, refusing to allow him to take it back even though several of us (including me) vouched for him as having by accident made the bet.....they would not even consider it! Now that alone makes me question if......IF the double up is such a even, or player friendly option.....seems to me, IF.....IF the double up was such a player friendly option, Resorts would have allowed the old guy to back out of it, and resorts would NOT have it set as ACTIVE on all its video poker games (seriously, if the casino has it as standard setting on ALL its VP games, then it cannot be a GOOD advantageous thing for players.......the double up option must be weighted to give the house a better advantage than 50-50.PS - the old guy WON his accident double up and walked away with 400 bucks!!! hahahahaha the heck with RESORTS! Serves them right!
