Well I guess Golden Nugget AC must be doing AWESOM

Post by DaBurglar »

If anyone wants a little laugh, go to the website of Golden Nugget AC, and try to book a room using the general reservation menu on the website........look at the listed room rates for July and AUgust!      Granted these are the rates that are essentially for first time non gamblers who might have the notion of simply staying at the hotel for a couple days at the BEACH.....but good grief, look at the listed rates!    Who the facccck would pay THAT for what is essentially a glorified MOTEL room?Currently, for someone who wants to book the fourth of July at GN in AC, it is "only"  $1,999 for a standard no frills room!!!!!      WTF?!!?!?!     Why on earth would the company even display such a absurd figure?   They should simply say, "please call for rates" instead of that crap.....and the July 3 rate is only 1,499.00 !!!!Furthermore throughout July and August it lists its weekly (monday-thursday_ rates as $250 per night.....$799-$999 on Friday/Saturday!    now that I can understand a little better, since this is their peak season, but obviously then they must be doing pretty good to feel confident enough to list those prices for last minute, impulse bookers / vacationers.     Other AC properties, are not nearly as confident it would seem, except on weekends.......edited to add:   Even the BEST, ritziest hotels in NYC or Chicago or Boston....hell, in London and Paris, do not come close to $2,000 per night for "Basic Standard rooms".....The world famous "plaza New York City"  currently lists a standard room for 1 night in july between $500 - $700 depending on discounts and membership in certain groups, etc.If I wanted to stay at the Waldorf Astoria TONIGHT (june 30, 2015)  it would only run me about $360!!!!    And get this:    If I wanted to stay at the Waldorf on July 4, and enjoy the holiday right smack dab in the midst of the greatest city in the world, NYC (which has several fireworks displays that dwarf anything Atlantic City puts on), right no wit only will cost me $250 for the night!250 bucks online, without any huge discounts, for the world famous 5 STAR Waldorf on the fourth of july........ versus ...... $1,999 for a puny room at the GN in AC????comments?????

Why would anyone want to stay at the Waldorf when they could stay at the Golden Nugget Atlantic City?    Um, which Waldorf?

I loved my Sat night stay there two winters ago. A real treat. Granted, the room was snug. The pool, lounges, hot tubs, fire pits, 70s retro style. The perfect view of white elephant Revel from the tub. The chump change rate. What memories. First time there, and from the look of things, last time.

Well I am just pointing out the apparent "Disconnect" with reality that seems to be in place in how many of the Atlantic City Hotel/casinos price their rooms online for people who are either browsing or impulse shopping....or who need to book a room last minute because for whatever reason they find themselves in AC.I've booked rooms last minute off of a Hotels website many times when traveling in many cities......usually you can find something reasonable, but you expect to pay a little more simply due to it being a last minute type thing, or unplanned, etc.But $1,499  - $1,999 ....? C'mon man!

DaBurglar look at it this way: in the great scheme of things, how does Golden Nugget seeking a large room rate affect you?

Their pricing always gives me sticker shock. But this is a whole new level.

It doesn't. If you aren't booking a room there, why would you care what they are quoting for a room rate? Unless you are trying to scare people off from staying there? There are reasons and logic behind their decision to quote these rates.

Fine....let's hear them, as you understand it......seriously, enlighten the forum as to the REAL reasons Golden Nugget AC would list July 3 for $1,499 and July 4  for $1,999 for "last minute shoppers".....not that I need you to enlighten myself, I am just very curious as to what you believe their reasons are...And as for me trying to "Scare" people. WOW you really must think I carry some serious influence on such matters huh?   AS if hundreds of would be vacationers are at this moment logging into this forum to see what Da Burglar thinks of Golden Nugget AC as a 4th of July destination......and......as if the $1,999 price tag does not SCARE them off anyway.....    which, ahem, was kinda my point when I made this post, before you (ONCE AGAIN) pranced in and made a total joke out it and yourself, per usual.    I simply wanted to see if anyone else thought it totally outrageous that they'd list such prices, which we all know NO ONE would ever actually pay......Seriously, anytime I try to simply make coversation or start a discussion about something that in my opinion seems odd, or interesting or whatever, you feel to urgent need to just totally wreck it before it gets off the ground......and no amount of justifying, or reasoning, or flatout BS-ing on your part as to WHY you continue to do this will deter people from seeing this to be the truth, with the resulting inevitable conclusion this leads people to draw about you.     Keep it up, you just keep burying yourself......and prove that YOU are the one who is unable to simply leave "IT" alone and find something else to do or post about.

You're 100% right DaBurglar.Instead of me commenting (which you encouraged in your kick off post) about you trying to scare people away from Golden Nugget (which you admitted to doing) I could have instead posted that I'm up to 64 daily top score achievements. It seems you've got some catching up to do pal.
