i do not think that is what he is saying at all. he is a being realistic. we all know how you feel and i happen to agree. but, there are others who feel equally strong about their position, that nothing is amiss. while i could point out an endless stream of government regulatory/oversight failures involving both private and government groups, others will accuately argue that there are no proven cases of casino tampering with the machines.

I will answer the original question when the thread was started with my own results. My lifetime average is 6-10 W-2Gs per year. My play has been pretty consistent over the years and if anything, running through a bit more the last couple of years. I have no W-2Gs issued since last October. That in itself to me is amazing and not in a good way.
I have my own take on this. I am not saying the machines are rigged either, but I think jackpots are squashed to hit in a very small timeframe and it just so happens that I haven't been there when they have been hitting or they haven't been hitting in my area. When I do see others hit jackpots, it seems to be several patrons real close together in time and proximity. I have personally heard from 2 different slot techs that the rngs are just partial rngs whatever that means. They had no detail or were not at liberty to disclose any.
The bottom line is it is still my choice to play or not play. For now, I just have to reduce the amounts bet per session and hope I see a turnaround at some point. I still like to play too much to just quit. Of course the casino is banking on this too.

I even offered an opinion earlier. I have personally experienced DB's casino disparity argument in AC, and would prefer to get to the bottom of it, even though I have personally resolved it by simply switching venues.

I was averaging around 45 W-2G's per year playing the same exact games with the same exact pay tables I play today, I had many a night a would walk out with multiple W-2G's, off the top of my head I would have to guess the most in one night was 6. Nowdays I can't stay in the game, good nights are few and far between, I'm very lucky to see 1 W-2G anymore. Now I didn't slow or reduce my playing but the bigger hits just got real tough to find. I'm not seeing any reduction in smaller quads, in fact I may be hitting a few more of them which allows me more playing time. All I'm getting at with my question is how long would it take for others to wonder if something could be different. The answer to my question could vary, some could even put their answer in the form of years, in other words after 3 years of almost identicle results that might lead some to ponder the question. There's some pretty smart folks on this site that understand the math very well, surely they have a formula or equation that would lead them to believe the odds or statistics just aren't adding up. I'm like you in a sense that I still like to play to much to quit, I'm just looking for simple answers to simple questions.

My bad, didn't intend to come off like that, sometimes I have a brash way of trying to make my point.

How can you possibly say that "jackpots are squashed to hit in a very small timeframe", but say the machines are not rigged? Random is random, and any massaging of the machine results makes them not random, and the machine is therefore rigged. It can't be both ways.

I hope this will educate some recreational players about the game of Triple Double Bonus. It is not the first time TDB has been brought up and it certainly will not be the last time. The game is for those who are affluent and can afford to stomach losses of thousands of dollars (denomination will not matter at all) without much harm. There is no cheap way to play this game as short coin suffers penalties for two outcomes, Royal Flush (250 for 1 instead of 800 for 1) and 4 Aces with Any 2, 3, 4 (400 for 1 instead of 800 for 1).

Triple Double Bonus is mostly available in the 9-6 format which has a return of 98.15%; however, the extreme variance factor of 100 would make that theoretical return feel completely irrelevant.

The best paying TDB game I've found for quarters is the 9-6 paytable variant. It is rare to find the full pay edition 9-7 Triple Double Bonus where you go for the flush on a 3-card suited draws. At the very minimum it has to be played for at least $1 denomination.

If an avid video poker player plays 50,000 hands of 9-6 TDB each year. For the dollar denomination,
There is a 12% chance you can lose $20,000 within 50,000 hands, that is the equivalent of a combined 5 quad aces with the kicker and royal flush payout. On the flip side, there is a 4% chance you can win $20,000 within the 50k hands. The chances of being a winner after the 50k hands is at 32%. Recreational players prioritize playing for quarters since they want to minimize their cost of entertainment, but playing this game will mislead them into losing $5000 (1/4 the factor of playing for $1).

I know the original post is about how long it would take before you start doubting the integrity of a machine. My own response to it is that I do not have the guts to find out whether I doubt a machine is rigged or not, I will rely on the math.

I would recommend people who must play this game to make it a high priority to find a casino that takes losses into account for rating comps more than the amount played in terms of time/coin-in. The player will need all the comps they can get.

From time to time I also get the feeling something is amiss with these machines.  Jackpot  bunching is something I have witnessed and big single coin jackpots do seem more common to me.  Single coin jackpots happen on my watch because I play 90% of my hands that way.  I play single coin 90% of the time for a very good reason.  I play a lot of hands and I only have negative expectation games available to me.  In my situation, I believe controlling loses is more important than maximizing winnings.  It works for me and I am definitely much better off financially since I made the change. Why jackpots or quads bunch up is beyond me, but I suspect they always did.  If I thought for a minute that the machines were not totally random, I would find something else to do with my money.  I'm not criticizing anyone who thinks otherwise, I'm just stating how I feel about it.
