Seriously.....is anyone going to AC this weekend?

Post by DaBurglar »

its LABOR DAY, and the LAST true blue summer weekend, which means AC (what's left of it) goes into hibernation starting next week, and soon after the remaining casinos start b*tching and whining about how they had another lackluster, subpar summer and this winter is going to be really brutal, etc etc.I'm planning on heading down Sunday, Sept 6 for about 3 days, not longer than that, because I have to be back in New England by noon on Thursday, Sept 10 to have another round of surgical Lithotripsy to blast some more kidney stones which continue to plague me......I don't know who to blame for these Urinary ROCKS, but I know its not my fault......I draw comfort though, knowing that I have Tedlark's sympathy and his well wishes for a problem free surgery and speedy recuperative process.....means the world, let me tell ya....

Not me, I don't like going down there on crowded holiday weekends. Weather should be beautiful though.

Caesars and Borgata today. C still a money pit. Lost the $28 I won via voucher in no time! Must flee ASAP. Borgata a joy as usual. Three quads in 4.5 slow play hrs. Lost $14 overall anyway. Time prevented a concerted break even attempt. A zoo by 5 PM.

Would not go near the place this weekend, heading down either Wednesday or Thursday.

oh well/  I am leaving in about 90 minutes......I have found that, by going on the SUNDAY of labor day, you avoid the heavy traffic INTO the city......and my past experience tells me that, while this is typically the single biggest weekend of the year for AC (along with MAYBE july 4th), the last several years have not nearly been the "ZOO" some people seem to think it to be......of course, I LIKE the boardwalk, piers and the AC casinos to be crowded on a hot, sunny day!   It just feels "right"......I will try and report when I get there;  if not, when I return.

Of course Sat is the heavy day DB. Any Sunday will be light on comparison! I like crowds too. It's supposed to be bustling LD weekend. Excellent day today. Average voucher conversion at Bally's, $29, before giving nine back. Borgata $43 net. Losing $30 at start was disturbing. I got the missing J hearts for a $50 straight flush. Queen high and my favorite suit; makes a nice photo. Ten percent of the win went to the AC Jitney Association for RT, quite the scenic route!

Notes, I was bewildered by how fast I inserted another $20 bill. Given prior results, I simply assumed that a winning cycle including a quad to break even was imminent. The straight flush was just a bonus. Perhaps for infliction of emotional distress. I stayed for another ten hands hoping for jitney money. Sure enough, a $4.50 full house.  I sat next to a black screen broken machine assuring that no smoker or annoying couple would arrive, at least on one side. Thank you slot tech slackers! Everyone in the area seemed to order mimosas, so I imbibed. I only order after a premium hand. The pressure to produce has ebbed. DB is doubtless living it up at the tables, bluffing to the hilt!

Well, thanks to Tedlark's prayers for a speedy recovery and problem free surgery, I am home resting somewhat uncomfortably after having several large stones blasted to smithereens using modern 21st century medical technology that is outrageously expensive.   I now have to pass the large amount of "sandy gravel" in my kidneys, which is painful, but not nearly as awful as if the LARGE stone(s) themselves had decided to trek down the ureter to the bladder.I returned late Wednesday nite from AC, just in time for my surgery this morning.....the AC labor day excursion was 100% neutral in terms of overall results, which actually means it was a WIN by previous standards......basically, I returned home with almost the same amount of money as I departed with.....I played two tournaments, one at Borgata and one at Golden nugget, and finished in the money (4th place) at the Golden nugget.......for the Borgata Tourney, I was knocked out within the first 35 minutes, which is exactly the way you want to go IF you are going to be knocked out, that way you do not waste lots of time for nothing and you get it over quickly......I went all in after flopping a Nut flush (I had K-9 of hearts) and the flop was A-5-2 of hearts......some guy had pocket queens and essentially raised and re-raised until we were both all in!    Needless to say I was psyched to have all my chips in with the best hand, but alas, the lucky Donk caught runner-runner of 5clubs and 5 spades for a full house!!!!     I knew once I saw the 5 on the turn I was dead, I could just feel it.....but oh well.On the Golden Nugget tourney I made up both my fees for the two tourney events plus a couple hundred extra.I played some Black Jack, about 2 hours total at Resorts, ans won another 150 bucks (15 dollar minimum bet table)....And I Played about 4 hours total of Video Poker spread out over the 3 days I was there....lost about 180 bucks total, no big hits, not much of anything, playing mostly 9-7-5 Double Bonus (99+% game) on the one machine at the TAJ that has 99+% games on it.....for the record, as great as the paytables are on that machine, I have never won not hit anything of note on it, nor seen anyone hit anything (since I was watching them play in a blatant and obvious manner )I spent the rest of my time relaxing, and chatting up a variety of people getting the latest on AC happenings and such.....the place is still in a very precarious and unstable position.....
