New AC trip

Post by DaBurglar »

Due to circumstances somewhat beyond my control, I have had to juggle and change my remaining gaming plans and schedule for the rest of the year.....The Eastern States Exposition (a.k.a.  "THE BIG E") is starting today and I did some consulting for several exhibitors, and have additional work scheduled for the later part of the BIG E, which lasts about 3 weeks running well into the first part of OCTOBER!   Ergo my next Western USA Gaming excursion (i.e. VEGas & RENO, NEVADA) is now going to to have to take place either in early November or perhaps the first two weeks of December, since I am planning on staying out their for about 10-14 days, maybe more.I will be making a quick 4-5 day AC trip starting tomorrow (September 18, Friday) returning around Tuesday, September 22.....Is anyone besides Doris planning on being in AC this weekend or early next week???!?!?!   Please holler if so......Also, I earnestly recommend attending "THE BIG E" this year, it is shaping up to be a truly spectacular event!    Once MGM has its casino built in Springfield, Massachusetts in 2017 or 2018, they will no doubt be a huge part of this annual festival/event as well!   Anyone who is a MGM High roller would do well to schedule a stay or trip in late september to MGM Springfield so as to take advantage of the BIG E coinciding with their visit!!!

Good luck when you go to Las Vegas. Watch out for the lotharios and other urchins that may roll up on you while you're out there, especially downtown on Freemont Street.

Congrats on your luck in Atlantic City by the way.

I won $47 from vouchers at Caesars. First bad Borgata day. I lost $50 in just under three hours of quarter JOB. I really needed the Cheap Strategy. It would have saved me at least $25. My average spin was probably 3.5 coins, a bit aggressive for me. Surprised not to hit a quad.

Returned from my trip......nothing earth shattering to report.....I played NO video Poker from my arrival on Friday (09/18) thru Monday (09/21), sticking with live POKER the entire time.....my net result after about 22 hours total of play spread out between Friday and Monday:   Down about $145 (my starting bankroll was $1500 for cash games and a couple house tournamentsduring my stay, and at one point I was up almost 400 and went down to a low point of minus 350 but rebounded to finish down 145).       I did not get involved in any major blowouts or huge pots, my biggest win was a $190 pot at Ballys, and I had a loss of $120 on one hand when I called a short stacker's ALL IN push and ran into his pocket aces!     It was agrind, but a pleasant one as I just found the weekend relaxing and the weather to be very nice refreshing at the beach this time of year!Of course, my last night, Tuesday, I finally relented and played some Video Poker, and much to my NON-suprise, had a miserable result:   I played at the TAJ mostly after dinner on Tuesday, and wound up on the progressive DDB bank of machines, where the progresive aces with a kicker was over 600 bucks while the royal was 1,100 or so......I put 500 bucks in the machines at 7 pm, and by 8:05 pm I was down almost $350 bucks......I hit NOTHING, NOTHING......I could not even get full houses. Now here is where it truly gets sick and it becomes obvious that what I have been saying is happening in AC really is.....there are 12 games on the progressive DDB bank at the taj.....myself and four other people were having awful results, getting hand after hand of NOTHING.   However, there was this one little old lady on one of the machines, and she hit one of those "Quad Hurricanes/storms" whereby she caught 10 different four of a kinds in about 45 minutes.......TEN!!!!    10!!!    All shapes and sizes (but not the aces with a kicker).....she was hitting her draws of three of a kind, she would mathc pairs for a quad, she was dealt a couple quads  etc etc,NO ONE ELSE was catching anything the entire time I was playing......obviously she was on the machine the casino has set for the benefit of the gaming commisiion for  the unlikely event they pay the casino a visit and ask to be shown a machine to inspect. What a crock......anyhoo, after I was down about 350 bucks I just quit and went to bed early so I could arise the next morning and get out of dodge early. My next trip to AC will precede my trip to Vegas and will have me polishing my POKER skills so that I hit the Vegas Tables at the top of my game......ANYONE going to be in AC around OCtober 15 or shortly thereafter????

Taj, Tropicana, Ballys, Caesars and Resorts are all No Play zones for VP in my book. So you went back to the dry Taj well. You would have been better off at the Taj strip club! All the more confirmation for me to avoid. When I find myself sweating it out for a full house, it's off the list. Quite a miserable feeling to have a big winner in your proximity while you struggle to maintain even a ten dollar loss too. Another twist of the knife.
