AC bullsheet PART 2

Post by DaBurglar »

I am back from my trip to AC (I left on October 16, friday)  ...... this trip was totally crazy, but ultimately fit the pattern to all the other sojourns to AC going back to 2011 or so.....I decided to flex my Video Poker muscles a little more this trip, since Poker action was a little dry other than some tournaments at Borgata that were just a little too rich and competitive for my taste (Borgata is home casino to MOST east coast professionals, and October is a prime month for them to play at Borgata)....instead I played almost all my poker at Golden Nugget and Tropicana (did not play at either Ballys or Harrahs Poker rooms).    I busted out of both tournaments I played ..... did not last  90 minutes  at either, just horrible luck ..........As an example of how horrible my luck is, I was playing in the Golden Nugget No limit texas holdem 5000 dollar guaranteed......about an hour and 15 minutes in, or around the 5th blind level I caught A-J suited in the Big Blind......the action coming around before me saw two callers, so naturally with my strong pre-flop hand I raised about 4 Big blinds.....both guys called;  the flop came   As - 6c - Jd  (rainbow)  so I am looking real good with top two pair!!!     I slow played it since I was first to act after the flop as Big Blind, so I just checked, HOPING someone would make a move;     The guy after me raised the amount of about 1/2 the pot. the other guy folded so it came back to me.......I then came back over the top and re-raised to more than twice the pot, whereupon the other guy WITHOUT HESITATION shoved all in and voila!   its an ALL IN showdown. He turns over A-K off suit and I flip over my A-J suited (clubs) and he is in BIG trouble (I am over 85% likely to win at this point!).....even though the flop was a rainbow, since my two hole cards are suited I still have a outside flush draw.....he only has one out, a KING, the only card that can save him, OR if the turn and river are Q Q (which would give him a win with the bigger kicker, his KING versus my jack).....basically, at this point I have done all a good poker player can hope to do, get all your chips in with the best hand (decisive)......<DRUMROLL PLEASE>     the TURN card turns up a 7h....so now he is down to ONE OUT, only a KING can save him (I am 93% to win now and more than DOUBLE up my stack!!!!)..........I swear to you all, before the dealer turned that river card,  I saw it coming ....... and I felt it.....this pitt in my stomach that tells you that you are toast.....the River was the FRIGGIN King of diamonds!       the whole table gasped, while the guy who just beat me on a ridiculous one outer held his fist out for me to actually fist bump HIM!!?!?!?!?!  wtf    I was too in shock to realize how stupid (and annoying ) this actually was so I did in fact fist bumped him.   I then collected my things and left without saying a word.....I just heard in the background  as I wheeled away  "wow that was sick....that guy (me) must be pissed."I was indeed a little pissed, only because this entire hand highlights one huge problem nowadays for would-be regular tournament players (who would like to become TOURNAMENT professionals) like myself face:The guy who beat me indeed had a good hand (A-K  with top pair after the flop), but after the flop, when I CHECK-RAISED his measly 1/2 pot raise by coming BACK over the top with a more-than-twice-the pot bet, he should have AT THE VERY LEAST paused for a moment before doing ANYTHING, least of all shoving back ALL-IN!!!!    He did not even consider or think or anything.....he just shoved.   He was NOT coming off that ACE of his......any GOOD player would have at least thought about it before calling my check-raise, and most would NOT have SHOVED all in with still two cards to come and only having top pair.     But this is the mentality now-a-days in the poker rooms across the land.....there are so many players and rooms and tables now that it has become a DILUTED sport......strategy is gone, it is now just more or less another form of video poker with players willing to gamble gamble gamble with almost any two cards at any point in the tournament!Oh well......after that traumatic event (the first night I was there) and a subsequent second defeat the next day, I spent the rest of my trip NOT playing any more poker and resuming video poker!   More on that to come////

Wow, great story. Win some and lose some, even the great players have lost but have they lost as gracefully as DaBurglar just showed?

My video Poker results for the period October 18 thru October 22, were pretty much typical for me in AC......typically bad with a healthy dose of CRAZY mixed in.....Altogether I finished down about 850 bucks, which considering the amount and number of hands I played was not all that bad a result......this was by far and away the MOST video poker activity I have had in AC over a 4-5 day stretch in many many months (perhaps the last year and change!)Caesars continues to be a dreadful and absurd venue for video poker, EVERY game I choose I get clobbered in that casino.....on one progressive bank of 25 cent DDB that had advanced to an attractive $1560 level, I proceeded to play for over 2 hours, played 2,400 hands and wound up losing around 480 bucks!   I hit only 3 quads and none of them were premium quads (Obviously)....it was awful, and given the similar results I have had over the past in Caesars, just more indication their server games are clearly set up to NOT return anywhere near the 95-99% returns the paytables on their many games indicate!    I tried other Caesars games over the next few days hoping to get back a little karma in return for another horribly unbalanced session, only to be slaughtered again on a variety of their other games like STP (a game I rarely played but I figured, what the hell, maybe I was due.)   The game behaved like a typical caesar server game.....rigged.BALLYs was a little better, I had some initial success at Ballys, hitting a Ace with a KING kicker on Double Double Aces & Faces (2000 credits) but since this was the machine that yields only $50 to 1  I immediately stopped playing and tried my luck at the multiple royal progressive  bonus poker banks which Ballys has all over the place......nothing doing, lost another 200 bucks, at one point went nineteen deals in a row (three handed mind you) with NOTHING.....a personal DUD record.    I immediately thought of calling the casino manager on the floor and making a scene, but alas I did not.The Taj was the usual awful place to play video poker.....I do not know what is going on with the project to rebuild it, but is not progressing all that well (not at all) and I am fearful Icahn may just toss in the towel and do  John Boehner and tell the idiotic radical braindead Freedom caucus (in this case the UNION leadership hell bent on preserving their power and fat paychecks)  to go <bleep> themselves and put the TAJ into bankruputcy and shut it down!      There are NUMEROUS games on the TAJ floor which, if anyone doubts my claims that AC video poker machines are calibrated differently, I would GLADLY take the time to show any person that I know what I am talking about......if fact this goes for all AC casinos (even the so called "good" guys like GN and Borgata) I will actually PAY any and all forum members a modest fee to allow me to show them the many machines I have pegged in AC that are not "statistically normal")   I am 100% serious.......email me  at  club_da_burglar@yahoo.comThe Golden Nugget was horrible as I lost several hundred there playing several clearly rigged games....Resorts I had another Aces with a kicker sandwiched in between a dud rate of almost 70% so I wound up only winning around 100 bucks at resorts to offset all my other losses.   Borgata was also a joker, as I tried the single line dreamcard game ($1) and lost a lot.I may have lost more than 850 bucks, I dunno, but the really awful thing is the many casino "people" I talked with about video poker in AC were either clueless or "cagey", meaning they clearly know something is "UP" when a person like me starts asking them uncomfortable questions, backing it up with data, and demanding answers.....they are not used to this and make all attempts to blow u off.The bottom line is this:  If I was WRONG about AC, after all this time (5 plus years) I should at least have had one really truly great experience, one where I won something significant, or simply had a great session punctuated by many "hits"....but I have not.   Not once......and this flies in the face of EVERY OTHER place of video poker I have visited.....

So you are openly claiming that Caesars rigs their video poker machines? Heres to hoping that they sue you for slander.

Cheers.

Before you envision the remote possibility of a delightful slander law suit against your nemesis, I suggest a few sessions of significant length at Caesars AC. You will stumble out dazed and confused. I come out ahead on most of my short sessions, a fraction of the typical poster's marathon effort. I get a lot of dud play on a machine before switching, which often improves matters. I will hedge on using the R word, but consistent players know the deal. DB would have better luck barging into the Gordon Ramsey kitchen and demanding a selfie with the head chef's bare behind.

Borgata was also a joker, as I tried the single line dream card game ($1) and lost a lot.                                                                                                 DB, I don't know what you're talking about with this Dream Card jazz. Maybe that's for the best. Sounds like a nightmare for you! But Borgata often comes up aces with me. Granted I am a lowly JOB player, far from the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

DB, Try the 99.69% Super Double Bonus at the Borgata next time. Available in .25 thru $1.00 at the B-Bar. I wouldn't play at any boardwalk venue.

They are a fixture! It's easy to spot regulars, especially in such a confined space. My first thought is that's two less available machines!

Cheers. Yep, you would HOPE that wouldn't you?     You know Ted, all I have to
do is make a post about ME, about something I did or experienced, and you
NEVER fail to show your true colors.....does not matter who, what where when why etc.  Fortunately most of the people on this forum see as clearly as I do....Hey Ted, why don't you REPORT me to caesars?   (if you have not already done so)...you are such a miserable petty person anyway, go ahead....maybe they'll reward you for all the business I am going to take away from them by stating the above OPINION & CUSTOMER Experience I actually had last week.....oh, um, wait, nevermind.....

I'm normally only down on a weekday afternoon and usually play the uprights a few rows in from the Buffet. The b-Bar is usually smoky and the buttons stick with all the spilled drinks they've seen. But they are an option.
