Thank you doris, for some reason I wasunder the impression that a casino's website may have included up to date information. This would be a black mark for Boyd Gaming if true...

The Gold Coast web site didn't say that their shuttle ran to Sam's Town or their other properties, just between The Gold Coast and The Orleans. Where did you see this case?
No the Gold Coast shuttle only runs between GC and Orleans and also takes you to Caesar's on the strip. The shuttle from Sam's Town is a different shuttle altogether.

If you stayed at Gold coast or Orleans you could catch the free shuttle and take it to Caesar's, walk across the street to Harrah's and catch the Sams Town bus to Sams Town. From there you could take anther shuttle from Sams to Fremont and visit downtown.
So you could actually visit the strip and downtown with no cost all from one of the Boyd casinos.

Ahh I see. When I looked at Gold Coasts website I did see that the Gold Coast/Orleans shuttle did also stop on the strip. I was thinking that their shuttle acted like the CET shuttle and stopped conveniently at most of their properties. I have taken the CET shuttle and I've found it to be well worth it. I do wish that it ran a little later on Friday and Saturday night though. I would take it from Rio on those times I didn't feel like taking the rental car.

Speaking of shuttles, I'm going to be in Vegas in early February, staying at the Mandalay. I prefer videopoker at SouthPointe. Anyone know of any other way to get their besides cab? I won't rent a car in Vegas. Too much of a hassle to drive in the city. Thanks

Have you given any thought to Uber?

Tedlark,No, I had not - is it safe for a woman to use and is it less expensive than a cab? I'm willing to try. I usually go to Vegas with friends so the cab cost is shared but this time I will be alone so it is a little different.

Doris,That's what I was thinking, too. I think the cab is my best and safest way.
