ko I also read that Harrah's Tunica was sold to a company having an interest in retirement communities. I'm half curious to see what happens to this property.

OMT and Cookie - I hope you both have an enjoyable time in Las Vegas and the machines are kind to you.
Thanks for the thought.

If you're at Main street Station in the January 9 -13 time frame, and happen to notice a silver-haired guy putting in a lot of time on the All Star machines playing multiline bonus poker, or on the 25c NSU uprights on the west wall, that'll likely be me.
Feel free to stop and say hello.
I will be checking in to the Cal Jan 12. Might run into you as well.

Now that you mention it I also remember reading something about that, maybe that's what the guy was talking about. I know it's a huge property with two hotels, I haven't heard anything about any interest in opening the casino back up. There was a time when the place stayed packed, I would go in the high limit room and the machines were being played like crazy, before they closed I would go look and no one would even be in there.

I think the sale forbade reopening the casino, fwiw. They just bought all the other things away from the riverboat.

I guess Caesars Entertainment is just trying to protect the other two casinos they own in the area. I have no idea why anyone would want to retire in that area.

Gold Coast offers a free shuttle to The Orleans. Getting to Sam's Town would require either cab, Uber, or metro bus. It would be nice if Boyd Gaming expanded the shuttle to include more of their Las Vegas properties but I'm guessing they only have 1 shuttle bus because it runs about every 45 minutes between these two properties.

If you are staying downtown you can catch a shuttle to Sams Town from the Fremont or California. These all all Boyd properties just like Orleans and Gold Coast.
You can also take the Sams Town shuttle from Sams to the strip (Harrah's) or back downtown to the Fremont or California.
It is really quite convenient and they use a full size nice bus. They run on a schedule and you can get the times on the Sams town website. Easy way to get to the strip and back or downtown. It is free and you don't have to be staying at any of the properties.

The Gold Coast web site didn't say that their shuttle ran to Sam's Town or their other properties, just between The Gold Coast and The Orleans. Where did you see this case?
