Well I think Stations is getting the messge about the guaranteed play vidoe poker. I was in Palace Station 3 mornings this week early and they were taking out some of the machines, not all but some. They might have finally got the message about these crappy games.
Got the Message? Not if you read the full court press Station Casinos are going to give the game. There is a full 4 pages of this in the November 2007 Casino Player magazine. They even say BD is at work doing a Strategy for this type of machine. They even invision bringing this concept to Slot Machines. IGT has the license and can also sell the license to other manufactures.
In a recent article by BD he said he disagreed with the Wizard Of Odds who said they were 90% games. Bob used his math to say they are 99% games. In the Casino Player article, it was said, that they don't think these will be played by the APs but more likely the novice who wants some playing time. As they pointed out a novice will get 75 full load hands on .25 machines versus the now 16.
The number of hands will be different for different games. Attractive to me was 200 Games for $200 on DDB. $1 per game. As I said in a previous post, I'm reserving judgement until I get to try one.

Faygo, it's easy to try. Just imagine when you start out in the morning you just put $20 in our monoline game. See where you are after 75 hands. Of course, the pay table herre will be better but you can get a feeling for the real thing.

Read the LV Advisor, Anthony Curtis will have an article on GP poker soon. Sounds like his 1st impression is that he doesn't like it either. I've mentioned before that Dancer will probably not speak out against GP because he has a professional relationship w/IGT who developed the game.---CWA---

Being a dealer at Palace Station I can only promise you that not only will the Guaranteed Play be around forever, but unfortunately will only multiply in number

Bicyclecardplayer, why do you say that? Are you anticipating them ignoring the complaints of the machines by patrons of the casino or do you know that they have invested so much in it that they can't blow it off as a bad investment? Or by chance do you anticipate them altering the paytables or number of hands to make it a good play?

I recently read a gambling column in a Chicago newspaper and it was reported that Station Casinos had signed a 6 month commitment to promote guaranteed play machines in their casinos. Will this hold true?

According to Bob Dancer column in Casino Player magazine the contract is at least till April of 08' They will also try to incorporate this GP technology in IGT slots too. That probably would make more sense since there are no decisions, except max coin play, to make. Stay tuned!---CWA---

Well this made me go hmmmmm last night. You all know the machines in Nevada are regulated to pay back a certian percenage back. Well is the payback on guaranteed poker based on dollars in or hands played, and at what percentage? Based on Nevada gaming regulations these machines should pay back something, and at what percentage of every dollar. Just wondering.

First calculation published by Bob Dancer: Assuming both machines are 9/6 JOB the return on standard machine is 99.54%, Guaranteed Play 99.44%. I deduce from this that an AP will milk out a few more hands which would lead to a higher, albeit small rweturn. This is not based as you suggest on coin in or other manipulations. These are VP machines not Slots.
Remember with VP it is the paytable that is the predicter of the results over the long term.
