Me and DB

Post by jetermacaw »

Anyone want me to ask DB any specific questions today during our meet and greet?

Well, this sharing may be off limits. CET recently generated 2015 won/loss statements. How did he do in AC's three venues? It turns out I played all year for free thanks to Jan RF and my low roller status.

Without being outrageously effusive, Jeter was extremely gregarious and a pleasure to meet and spend time chatting and getting to know him.......He was kind enough to treat me to some QUesadillas at Mccormick and schmidts, (which were very tasty) all the while he spoke of his video poker successes and other topics......I was particularly impressed with how much his family means to him (remember I am single so I have no basis of comparison) and it was obvious he is a devoted family man.  He went out of his way to make me feel welcome and comfortable and for that I am extremely grateful. As he related his Video Poker experiences at HArrahs-AC, it was difficult to tell exactly where his overall conclusion(s) lie, since he clearly has experienced both the heights of exhiliration and the depths of despair playing at HArrahs AC!!    PLUS he clearly has had far more SUCCESS simply playing one day a week, every week, for many years at Harrahs than I have had playing all over AC one week each month for many years......Jeter has had More Royals in the last couple months than I have had in the last several years!    But there are huge differences in what and how we play, particularly since he plays mostly nickel while I play 25 cent......and of course do not forget, since the end of 2014, my MAIN focus has been on Poker Tournaments and Cash games, and I am now certain there were many times I was sitting a mere 30 feet away from Jeter many Thursday nights in the Poker room right behind Mccormich and Schmidts!Anyhow< I look forward to meeting with Jeter again, perhaps next month on a Thursday Afternoon, and perhaps this time he will let me take him to MY favorite restaurant and return the favor!

Always nice to put a face with the post. Overall, we have a nice bunch of posters on this site. I have only met FP so far and his Mrs. Both really nice down to earth people.

Glad you guys had a good time. I would have to definitely play some nickel Quick Quads with jeter if I ever got up there. Love Quick Quads!

I'm glad you guys had a good time, too.  Funny, when I saw the title of this thread. I couldn't help but think of the Paul Simon tune "Me and Julio"  and made up my own version that goes a little like "Me and dahbee-ee down by the Boardwalk".♫♪  lol

Never heard of the song, but then again I am basically deaf.....you must be a product of the 1960s.I just hope you can tell by jeter's post I am not an A-hole on four wheels .... now if I had run into DORIS down yonder in AC......

As a matter of fact, Mohegan seems to be following that stingy comp room track even more. I looked this morning and have no offers in the future except for tonight which I cannot make due to the weather and family stuff. I give them between 15k and 30k in coin play a week. I think because I play mostly 99% games, they feel they don't need my business that much. If they took a look at my actual not theoretical loss for the last 2 years, I would think they would change their tune. The other possibility is they took a look at our play so far this year which had a few small jackpots. Maybe they consider that as well and are as superstitious as we can be sometimes. One way or the other, we will meet sometime this year. A mini meet and greet up this way would be great for any who could make it. Wait for the good weather though. Shoveling is getting old just like me.

As I stated before it was great meeting DB its just a shame to hear of his dismal VP play in AC. I have had bad days but nothing like he has experienced. I explained to him last week 1/28 was my first losing session of the year. And as I also explained to him there was a gigantic convention in town taking over all 3 marina casinos. My regular machines were ice cold, no let me rephrase that, they were FROZEN so guess what convention in town, cut my losses, go to room and read a book come back next week. I should have know when the 100 play QQ machines were empty, the 7* players who normally inhabit those machines knew something.
Last week with DB was my first trip without a royal, 5 during my fist 4 trips, but made up for it with aces with kicker on TDB, holding just an ace. It was also the time first time I was dealt back to back dealt QQs.
Looking forward to seeing DB again and any other members from this board who are visiting AC,
