It's not player greed. It's an addiction like any other. No body went to a casino their first time thinking, "I'm going to be hooked on this for years if not the rest of my life"
It gradually builds up to that. Casinos are very greedy puppet masters who just like a corner drug dealer will give you just enough to get you in the door which they know will usually end in empty pockets. Then you will be back to try and get that $ back later. They are just exploiting an addiction. To say they aren't greedy is ludicrous.
They don't pay their employees nearly enough in conjunction with what they earn. Casino jobs should pay very well. They always act broke and are looking for cost saving measures. Give me a break

Casino operations are a business. They're in it to make money just like any other business. You bet they rely on player ignorance/lack of self control to keep their coffers full. Many tourists and regulars get offers to keep them returning. Is it greed on the part of the owners or the players too? Any business will trim the bottom line to stay profitable. Casino visitors trim their gaming budgets to stay solvent. A business will do whatever necessary to draw the players in. Tough for me to say who is more guilty here.
