I actually have a tweak for low budget job days. Just start with one quarter and no matter what ( and that is the hard part ), do not increase your bet until you have a net loss of 25 coins. After that, only bet the amount that will get you even when a quad hits. It works well except of course on those days when no quads appear. Funny though, on quadless days, often times, the full houses will come in bunches. Here is the reason why.....You are dealt 3 of a kind and to save your life you cannot connect with a quad...However, you do connect with a pair giving you a nice paying 9 for 1 full house. Good luck if you try it. I find it very difficult to stick to, but it does keep the losses down pretty well. Of course you stop when and if you bust your budget for the day. Hopefully, that won't happen too often.

Pretty tough to lose $6.25 a quarter at a time! I would sure hope that this system keeps losses down. Such a high wire act today just before I left. I lost a $20 and on my way to flushing a second $20 when my quad came in to put me up a slim buck on the machine. Just couldn't walk past without playing, as usual.

Major discipline failure a few days ago. Fla Phil posted similar. Must be something in the air or water. I'm taking a punishment break for a week or so. Not going at all.

I completely understand. I went from dreaming about a Roy to dreaming about break even. It was such pathetic groveling.

Old's that mild martingale seems interesting to me. I didn't see when you drop your bet back down to 5 coins though? Is it after you hit anything or you have to hit 4 coin wins?

This method is the hardest thing in the world to stick to. At least for me it is. When the machine gets hot, it is so tempting to up your bet usually with bad results. Anyway, if I do start with 5 coins that for quad deuces would give me 250 bucks, I do not up my bet until I have lost that amount. There are two ways to do this. anytime when you win a hand you have lost less than 250 bucks, drop back to 5 coins. That is the safer way. I choose most of the time to play the more dangerous way. Let's say I hit quad deuces after losing a few hands and up say 185 bucks. That up 185 becomes my new floor which means anytime that hitting quad deuces again will put me less than 185 bucks ahead, I increase my bet. You are still waiting until you have lost 250 bucks before you go up, but at that point you would only be out for the day 65 bucks when you start betting 6 coins.
I have recently started playing this way on spin poker with good results. I also play Bonus Deuces Wild this way, but its a tougher game due to the straight penalty. However, today I got bailed oun because I hit 5 Aces when I was close to being out 250 bucks. The 5 Aces pays 80 for one and that kept me going at the entry level until I hit quad deuces later in the day. That is a great machine, but it is the only one in the casino and I'm afraid it will be gone soon. It is a dollar machine with a 98.8 return, but it pays the 800 for 1 for hitting the Royal for just bet one. I play 3 lines at a buck a line. The other day, Phil posted for me a once in a lifetime hit I had on that machine in that it was a dealt Royal with 2 bet per line for a 4800 win. They do have one quarter machine similar to this one but with a poorer paytable for the same game. I play it once in awhile but I think it is only a 96 or 97% game. It still pays 800 for one for just a quarter bet for the Royal which is great, but the straight flush on the bonus deuces game only pays ten instead of thirteen. Still on low budget days you can play 3 lines for 75 cents a spin.
