Farewell until August

Post by BobDancer »

The group has clearly spoken. They think FP should have the right to post anything he wants here. He's back to posting about CS. I believe it is dangerous to allow him to do that. But the group wants this. So they don't need me.I'll revisit this site in August, and reevaluate the situation but I won't make or respond to any post until then.

I'm not either, I will miss Bobs input and practical thoughts on VP.

Mr Dancer has a bit of the Diva in him. I only came here because he recommended the site after a class at the SP.
I'm very sorry to see him go but I don't think members should have to choose between each other.

let's reverse the proposal. let's say FP made the same proposition that it was either him or dancer. i am no fan of dancer's arrogance, but i would have voted the same, no one's voice should be denied. dancer thought he would use his popularity among his fans, gang up on someone else and silence his detractors. if you are for that sort of thing, watch out, you could be next.   for those who voted for the free exchange of ideas/opinions, bravo.

I have stated before that I was not an advocate for or against Florida Phil's Cheap Strategy, or CS. I will offer this though: if the system is so good then why has Florida Phil abandoned it? At the same time, Bob Dancer is an advocate of a certain way of playing and to my knowledge he has not abandoned his way of playing.

In the 6 weeks since my last post I have made two casino visits. One visit I played my usual 10 play TDB .25 denomination and my results included: 1 royal; 1 AWAK; and, an amazing 6, yes 6, 2/3/4's with a kicker. I left the casino up a bit over 4k. My most recent trip was two weeks ago and again, I played 10 play TDB. I started out at .25 denomination and after getting dealt quad 6's I jumped up to .50 denomination. About 10 minutes after moving to .50 denomination I was dealt quad 9's for a $1,250.00 handpay. I also hit small aces for $400.00. I decided to throw caution to the wind and go up to $1.00 denomination, this is very rare air for me. I was up down, up down. I was dealt trip aces and after saying a prayer to the god of aces I drew AWAK on one hand and quad aces on a second for a fantastic $4,880.00 handpay. I played for about 15 minutes after getting paid off and I then left, up 5k.

I am going back into hibernation. I am not as blunt as Bob Dancer is when he says that a player who follows the CS puts themselves in peril but I do believe it. My manner of play has always, ALWAYS been to play at max coins in. If a player cannot afford to do this then drop down in denomination. If a player is in a market that does not have low denomination machines then save your money up and go when you can afford to play max coins at those denominations.

Good luck to all.

i believe you have mentioned in the past that you did not always play the proper math, nor the highest odds games. you have stated you believe you are just luckier than others. the purists would argue against your choice of games and not always playing correct math. it is your choice. i/m/o, this is not a discussion about CS, i have stated i would not play that way, but rather a conversation about someones right to discuss something. one may feel they can win by only wearing a yellow shirt, only playing a certain machine, wearing a hat backwards, whatever. they should be able to offer their opinion and someone else can disagree.

notes, yes I do consider myself to be lucky when playing but my point was that I always play at max coin and one of the building blocks in the foundation of the CS is NOT to always play at max coins.

We all have the right to post here if we follow the rules established by the forum moderator.

It seemed to me that when Bob disagreed with Phil about the CS Phil then took to assailing Bob personally and Bob then would come back at Phil in the same manner. In this manner Bob has much more to lose than Phil because teaching video poker is one of Bob's revenue streams. If someone tries to take money out of my pocket I too; would react in much the same way Bob did.

Who voted? Where was the vote?

My vote was the only one that counted. After he saw I wasn't going to be his *****, he left. He will be back before August, probably tomorrow I would imagine. Maybe not. They will just probably ban me, that would be the less messy way . You all take care, I won't be back regardless.
