For every one knowledgable VP players there are dozens of players that will still be playing at a 95% level.Or less.

agree 100%. it would be interesting to go into any casino, outside of Nevada, and ask those who are playing VP, have you ever heard of bob dancer? have they ever visited a VP forum website?

I/m/o, what has caused the payouts to decrease is primarily the recession. have not checked in a while, but a year or two ago, revenues in AC were just about 1/2 of what they were in 2006.

imagine any business losing 50% of revenue and still having large fixed costs. they are either going to reduce the size of their product, raise the price or some other adjustment, that is likely not to benefit the consumer.

Whenever someone sits down next to me and asks how to play this game I tell them to go home & log into this site then purchase Bob Dancers software. I've known several that have and become regular players but no, none of them had ever heard of either one before.

Its laughable for anyone to question whether Bob Dancer thinks Phil is somehow taking money from him? Bob Dancer LOVES players like Phil and all those other players who don't follow perfect strategy or play the best games or otherwise leave money on the machine. If all video poker players played like Dancer the scope of video poker would really change to a casino and not, to the player's advantage.

LQ, you are a better person than me. When someone sits down next to me, puts their money into a vp machine and the asks me how to play every hand, I can't help myself from saying why are you putting your money into a machine that you don't know how to play? I don't understand this at all.

It was all speculation by Phil that Mr. Dancer works for the casino industry (still have not presented definitive proof), and that if more people played much cheaper, their revenue will drop which can make sense, and Mr. Dancer will receive less of the cut as a casino industry employee. I think the casino will not have trouble paying IGT/Action Gaming the $15+/day rights to run per machine on their floor.

Mr. Dancer in my opinion was only defending himself from Phil's wide range of claims (in which he had no distinct evidence to back up with), some comments had to be snide. It later became speculation by Phil that Mr. Dancer is fighting and seeing a single quarter play as a threat. Phil is beloved by some folks who are in touch, but has a visible ego and is capable of repeating things over and over with a fit.

Mr. Dancer wanted to uphold a higher standard of quality VP discussion since he was asked a favor by management here to participate. Once they took a silent stance to allow all opinions, it took away any meaningful purpose for Mr. Dancer to keep going.

Not to play "peace" ambassador, but I remember Phil and Bob coming to an understanding...a truce; whereas they agreed in playing negative EV video poker (game returning less than 100%), Phil's 'cheap' strategy becomes more into play and may be the favorable strategy for these bad games like 6/5 BP or 8/5 job for example....provided one is willing to give up the Royal bonus and the extra percentage that goes with it.

Phil's recent post referring to Bob Dancers "fantasy stories" and BS hardly serves to keep the peace.

alpax my post was more in line with the post Mr. DaBurglar made earlier today.

I can understand the point DAAnMAAn is trying to make because Bob advocates playing the best game while Phil advocates playing the best AVAILABLE game using the cheap system.

I understand now about the purpose of your post Ted. I still felt I needed to express a fair assessment of the situation in the past which I personally thought was informative re-reading it.

I've personally supported the purpose usage of the Cheap System until Phil denied he was in financial trouble (to say the least). Phil has access to good dollar games with the quarter games are terrible. The recommendation was for to play less often to save up the bankroll to play those better games.

I'll only advocate the cheap system if the paytables on every denomination are not good and if the player is responsible to accept losing as a recreational hobby (tall order for most people). In addition, if they'll still get comps for several hours of tracked play.

Otherwise playing on this website is the better choice.
