Makes sense assuming the 40 play nickel odds are the same as the $2 single line odds.  Right?

For sure. If you have to give up something in terms of paytable, that is a different story.

alpax hit a Ruthian type shot with his post.

I don't know about everyone else but from this I am thinking that Dancer may consider a session as being a year?

Again; well done alpax.

I think that is exactly how BD views a session. I wish the IRS would take the same view. Really, that is the only way to be fair about it. You can buy and sell stocks all year and make and lose millions during the course of the year. The only thing that matters at year end is how much you paid for everything less how much you made or lost on each individual trade. I don't think we will ever see this in our lifetime. Those may be the rules however, for the professional gambler. I haven't researched it, but I bet the rules for the pro are similar to stock buys and sells.

[quote=alpax] I certainly cannot replace Mr. Dancer's presence here, I feel the site
lost some of its good video poker vibe when he decided that a hiatus was
what is best, but at least this is something I can do to bring back
some of the passion.Great job... informative, openly discussed without drama and explained so even stupid players like me can understand. Thank you!I have seen a few multi line opportunities.  They are rare on the east coast, but I'll be looking out for them.  The last time I was in Colorado I saw some three line NSU deuces games that I should have played.  I'll see if I can find some at Red Rock when we're there in two weeks.

Thanks Phil. The forum is very active today, it is hard to keep up with everything, but it is already a good sign for sure. I suspect that everything Mr. Dancer talks about leads into the purpose of winning with anything less being futile, and there are a fair share here that believe winning at a casino is not possible, hence the arguments. I still find his knowledge to be very useful.

The best multiline game you will find at Red Rock will be Bonus Poker which is similar to Jacks or Better. I do think it will be worth it for you and the Mrs. to play the 3 line NSU Deuces the next time at Colorado. It will significantly reduce the chances you guys will leave there with a big loss because it increases the chances to get the Quad Deuces.

I used the Video Poker for Winners to see that it will only cost less than double of what you need for 25c single line game, but you get 3 lines/chances instead!

Reducing paytables on multiline games is not a universal practice. The multiline games I play have paytables just as good as the single line games at those casinos.

I tried really carefully to word that not all places reduce their multiline, but should not have said "rare" to describe the amount of places with good multiline, instead should have said very few places have good multiline. I do recall the 8/5 Bonus Poker multiline games you have access to at Seneca Niagra, a much better selection than the Fallsview Casino (I was there last Spring) across the Rainbow Bridge.

Above all, I appreciate all that you've added to this discussion with multiline games.

Thanks Ted, it does take much insight to look into to really believe that there is truth to Mr. Dancer's claim.

It is not far fetched to think of Mr. Dancer's annual play as a session where most recreational players consider their visit to the casino as a session. He has to and will do everything it takes to be a winner. Mr. Dancer has talked about having unused freeplay at various casinos, I suspected that if he is ahead, he will leave them unused, if he is not ahead, he will use them to get ahead.

One thing I will not complicate myself about is, if all but 2 of the last 20 annual results were in the positive, he is a pretty much lifetime winner.

To many people, it will take a lifetime session to reach a game's theoretical return/

I also agree that is the worst part about the IRS being involved in gambling winner or loser. We as players play a negative expectation game which part of the losses goes to the government. If some of us win, some of that still goes to the government. It is just unfair to the winner, they still lose something for winning.

Multiline NSUD is difficult to find even in Vegas. Most casinos have got rid of it. According to VPFree2, only emerald island (where billryan has been playing lately) and South Point has a multiline game for quarters or less. The South Point game is on the "Good Times Pay" machines, but the multiplier bet is optional in that game.

As for red rock, I would assume multiline "airport deuces" is available even though it's not listed on VPFree2. I want to say the STP Spin Poker games are "Airport" for quarters.

Sounds like I might just miss you. We just booked Vegas for Sept. 6th-13th.

Personally if I knew that I would make a return trip to the Red Rock within a year/12 months, I would play the Airport Deuces multiline in hopes for bounceback offers, considering the higher costs associated with staying at a high end place. A Vegas local who I assured will not mention by name again confirmed it goes by theoretical loss value.

If I was not returning and making this a one time thing, I would play away the FPDW and not the NSU Deuces.
