Someone changed my pin at Mountaineer

Post by Onenickelmiracl »

Got an email saying my pin was changed when I wasn't even there in a month. Email says if I didn't, come in and change my pin. Wtf? Sent them an email about it yesterday and haven't heard a thing. I had heatd one of the hosts there, she was stealing free play with an associate and went to jail. I'm mad also because someone that was there yesterday told me the casino changed everyone's pins, so I don't know what to believe. If that's true, they're deceiving me just to try getting me back. My free play and my sister's has plummeted starting in August, and I'm wondering if someone using my card has caused this. Everything has been turned upside down since Eldorado took over and the place seems like a Hollywood casino with tight slots and joke free play. Don't know what's going on, but Eldorado is making the casino even worse than it was.

I have half a mind just dragging the sheriff into the casino instead of going down by filing a police report and getting to the bottom of this. It makes me mad I have to drag my license around, but someone trying to steal from the both of us doesn't need an id. If the mountaineer changed my pin and told me I did to trick me down there, even madder. If I go down there, I'll use my free play and will jeopardize future offers.

Thoughts on this and thoughts on Eldorado? Have they ruined casinos you played at?

Hey One, that's sounds strange, I think I would call them instead of e-mailing, make sure it wasn't a scam or something...Our casino would require I.D to change a pin. If someone tried using your card and entered the wrong pin, after 3 times it would lock you out, and you would have to re-do your pin. I don't know if that could've been the case...Interesting though...Maybe they had to change everyone's pins because of the stolen free play problem. Be curious of the outcome...

Maybe I should call, but hate the inconvenience. The employee embezzlement thing is not current, so wouldn't necessarily be a factor now. I thought maybe it was happening again. From April to July I was getting about $100 free play a see there and now get $10. I'm sure my play has gone down, but not ten times worse. I spent a lot of money and played a lot in July too. My sister put 4000 coin-in on a dollar machine in July and 2,000 another day and hasn't gotten free play since August. Everyone I speak to has told me their offers plummeted or were nonexistent since Eldorado took over mtrgaming group. Seems even if someone was using my card, I wouldn't feel valued by the offers I was getting. I haven't had $10 a week free play in almost a decade and dont think I can get used to it being the new normal. Maybe I had it so bad, but don't remember since I wouldn't go there to use it and probably had earned better on a return trip after a hiatus. I'm so negative in my opinion about the place now, I don't know if free play can be earned as easily anymore by refusing to accept it and playing only after a break.

You know it's funny since I got this mail yesterday, now I'm seeing ads from mountaineer because of it and it's twisting the knife in, so to speak, adding to my discomfort. Disclosure: ads aren't on this site.

$100 FP? Are you a real high roller?

I ask because my FP at a local, where I play $10k - $12k a month, is only $5.

I would definitely call them and get names of the employees with their answers. If you aren't satisfied with the answers, I would definitely ask for a supervisor and get their names and departments too. Sounds very weird to me. Just as an aside, at Mohegan Sun, I have to cycle through about 30k a week to average about 80 in free play a week and they break it up into different days to boot. At Foxwoods where I just started playing again recently, free play and rooms are much more generous. Might be a coincidence but I think I just got a scam call saying my Verizon pin no longer matches their safety criteria. Anyone else get that one? Unfortunately, the world of cyber attacks and crime is just in its infancy and the crooks are always a step ahead of everyone.

I went down there, my PIN number wasn't even changed, changed it, and never got an email about the change I made. I don't play video poker there. I don't even like going there anymore. Never heard from anyone.

Sounds like a phishing email to me You would think, but it didn't try to get information from me, redirect me to another site, it wanted me to come to the casino to correct the problem. There wasn't even a problem, since my PIN wasn't even changed.
