Ultimate X Spin Poker - New game for March 2017

Post by alpax »

The "other" new Ultimate X Game from the G2E 2016 is released for this month, Ultimate X Spin Poker!

Here is the layout of the game

The Bonus Feature Enabled ONLY when the MAX BET wager is done. 9 lines at 10 credits per line for 90 Credits

The Multipliers for Double Double Bonus

The Help Page confirms anything less than the MAX bet wager will disable the feature. This means the game is less favorable to vultures. I tried and tested to confirm to be the case.

Custom paytables are available this time around unlike Bonus Streak.

If the player gets a big hit, a Big Win will flash on the screen.

More details later ...

As a heads up, for the Double Double Bonus

Compared to the 10 play Standard Ultimate X

The standard awards 3x multiplier for 5s to King Quads, and 4x for Royal Flush/Straight Flush/Other Quads. And also you can play variable lines and vulture multipliers.

This spin poker variant is 2x multipliers for all Royal Flush/Straight Flush/Any Quads

It returns less in the long run.

The Single Line Ultimate X awards 7x for Straights and 4x for Quads and Up. This Spin Poker variant is better overall from the 8x for Straights despite 2x for Quads and Up.

Seeing that 6/5 DDB is a choice is a bummer. Some casino will likely take advantage of that. And 9/6 not being an option also sucks too.

The full pay 8/6 Jacks or Better and 7/5 Bonus Poker are available (what is considered full pay on the standard), but its potential return is not near 99.4% like standard 10-play Ultimate X.

7/5 Bonus Poker 98.623%
8/6 Jacks or Better 98.538%

All the quads, straight flush, and royal flush is 2x for some reason in this game. Hence lower the payout potential than the standard (3x for quads, 4x for Ace thru 4 quads).

I suppose the standard Ultimate X will remain king over Bonus Streak and Spin Poker.

If the numbers are that low, they probably lowered the flush from 11X to 10X. 2X quads doesn't affect the payout that drastically. Yeah this has a danger of flopping bad. Not as sure about bonus streak.

I did not pay too much attention to the Flush but you are correct that the Flush is lowered to 10X for the non-wild games. I believe that will account for most of the drop off in return since the hold strategy that leans toward the best possible return is more biased towards going for the Straight / Flush (1 in about 60 something) than the Quad (1 in about more than 400). To lose a multiplier on that hand is a factor.

I do recall that one of the things that New2Vp interpreted from Dr. Koehler's analysis on Ultimate X is that having more lines with the same multiplier set will lower the return. This Spin Poker is 9 lines compared to the 3 or 5 or 10 lines on the Standard, but I suppose the drop in multiplier on Quads and Flush will prevent it from having a higher return than the Standard 10 line variant.

This game is a stinker just because it's a spin poker game.

There's a stark contrast between VP and Spin games, in my opinion. The Spin is too much like a regular slot machine to suit me.
I probably will skip these if they're a daily or weekly contest game.
