I won't play any machine that has mechanical issues of any kind. Sooner or later that machine is going to cost you money and I want no part of it.  In better casinos, if you put the service light on they send someone to fix the issue or at least mark it to be repaired.  Sadly, some casinos never seem to fix anything.   I believe these casinos use bad machine maintenance to increase their edge. Unfortunately, the best odds seem to be only in upright machines.   This isn't always the case, but it's pretty common where we play.  Playing an upright machine for 6 hours has it's challenges, especially if you're older.  I switch hands a lot and take frequent breaks.  One of the things I enjoy about Tampa is the size of the casino.  It's one of the largest square footage casinos and all the machines have the same odds.  On any given day I probably walk 2-3 miles playing all of them.   Good way to get exercise, but it can be expensive.

Hi Phil...
I will not play an upright, period...
If the pay-sale is not to my liking on the slants in the casino I'm in, I'll just leave and go to another casino.

Ugh, I hate uprights, too, and I'm not even old. I've found that my arm hurts a lot less if I play extended time on those uprights standing up. Plus it's a little better for my posture than just sitting around for hours at a time.
