Harrahs AC

Post by jetermacaw »

Had a great visit with DB yesterday at Harrahs. Caught a couple 4 oak on Dream Card but couldn't catch the big one. DB treated me to a great dinner, actually got him to try some braised pigs feet in tomato sauce. Enjoy spending time with him discussing VP and the ills of the world.

AC is always better when you spend time with friends, but even though the meal Jeter and I had was "free", at matarno's in Harrah's, I rate the whole experience of the meal merely "ok".   The food in general was ok bordering on good, but as typical of most AC restaurants, was vastly overpriced for what you get in terms of quality. That's just my opinion, but 14.95 for cheesecake, 5 bucks for a scweppes ginger ale, and 28 bucks for spaghetti Al dente with one (1) meatball is absurd, not to mention 45 bucks for the seafood-whatever Jeter had.   The only reason we ate there was the steakhouse was closed on Wednesday.

Jeter knows quite a few friends at Harrah's who are high rollers, seven star or upper echelon Diamond, and most agreed with us in saying Harrah's has been very tough and unprofitable lately. We can't all be wrong....

One other thing....as most of you now know, CET properties all operate on SERVERS for their games;  One of my observations among the CET properties in AC is, since implementing their servers the games have become even more bizarre and "non-normal" in their statistical distribution of hands and results.  What I know about the ability and facility of servers in general has lead me to really believe they give the casinos a whole different level of "control" and manipulation.   In fact that is one of the many benefits of servers for large computer based businesses. It is incredible easy to manage, organize, print and analyze DATA on server based systems.....they are well known for their ease and utility in generating REPORTS for a whole variety of reasons, obviously to help manage and analyze the business in general, but there really is no level of detail to which you cannot "drill down to" with servers, so the next time a host asks me if there is anything i WANT OR NEED, I am going to request the following from them:I want to see a printout with my stats of all the games I played, from the most general info all the way down to hand to hand data.   I dont care if it is 200 pages long, THAT's what I want.   I do not want (or NEED) a 150 dollar dinner, or two tickets to see Whitesnake or Alice Cooper, or a 9am Tee time at Jack Beef Jerkey Links golf Course etc.   I want the infro i KNOW is readily accessible and available on this new server system.   And why do I want it?   For all the obvious reasons.....What do you think the reply will be from the host/customer relations specialist who first gets my request?

An inoffensive chuckle while laughing off the request. Bottom line. What is your advice for AC regulars? Write off CET for Borgata? Trop, GN and Resorts are untouchable for me.

I saw a guy at Harrahs AC was dealt Aces with a Kicker playing 10 hands quarters on Saturday for $5,000. That is pure luck.

Amen. I am ever so grateful to be dealt straights and flushes. The occasional dealt quad comes along, too.

Jealous, to state the obvious. Two RFs in a three day stay. I stay away, far away, until 2018!

Speaking of funny business....I know a lady who lives 5 minutes from Mohegan Sun. She goes and plays there every day just about for several hours at a time. She only plays 1 nickel at a time and claims over the last three years to hit Royals about every ten thousand hands. She knows she is short coining and doesn't care. She says that she has played the correct way on quarters a year before that and got slammed. Could it be that the premium hands are coming in with very small bets for the most part and not coming in for high roller players or even for players playing 5 quarters at a time? On a recent trip I played a single dollar a hand all night just to see what happens. Granted it was a machine that paid 800 for 1 for bet one. I hit no Royals or even quad deuces for that matter, but at the end of the session, I was ahead several hundred dollars. Well, that is no test really, but it did raise my curiosity especially after hearing her story on single coin nickel play. edited to add....I saw her hit the Royal the other day with a single nickel bet. Didn't phase her in the least. She just ordered another bloody Mary and was enjoying herself. We ended up sharing life stories since I learned we are only a few months apart in age. Her biggest peeve was that today's children lace respect and discipline like when we grew up in the 50's and 60's. She used her own grandchildren as an example. I know many other first hand stories like that as well. My own niece is an example. Or just go to a department store and watch the kids running wildly up and down the aisles with the parents caring less or looking at their I phones. I know I am getting old, but this one I blame squarely on the parents and nobody else.
