I totally understand your feelings.  If I had access to positive VP games at a denomination that I could feel comfortable with, believe me I wouldn't play anything else.  Unfortunately, since the financial crisis VP odds have been dropping all over the country.  On top of that, States have piled on taxes further reducing the returns.   Currently the best game I have available is 98.7% deuces wild.  By playing max coins, I can earn enough comps to make my cost to play manageable.  Moving the dollar play or above does not create a positive opportunity that I can live with.  I also doubt I have the skill or stamina to play totally error free.   I believe the vast majority of VP players in America are just like me.  We wish to enjoy our day at the casino at a reasonable cost without worrying if we made the right decision to go in the first place. There is a cost to recreation.  If my choice is to not play at all or pay to play, I choose to pay the smallest amount possible.  I am not telling anyone else to play this way.  I am reporting what I do. It's up to each player to decide how to spend their own money.

I understand you are ok with a 98.7% game for recreation. Sounds like it might be Bonus Deuces?

I was incorrect.   Our best max coin game is 98.9% deuces wild.  Some people call this Airport Deuces.  The odds are 125/75/45/20/20/15/10/5.   I use the strategy in our VPW software.

Car, I play a lot of .25 Caesars progressive. I dispute your almost always positive assertion. $1,200 is almost never! I do find the recent clientele to be despicable, detestable, odious and contemptible. I'm actually switching to Bally's for relief!

FAA, I was actually referring to the .25 Double Jokers that have a royal that resets at $2,000. The base game at $2,000 is 99.91%, so it gets positive quickly. I will only play there on a day when the casino is virtually empty for one reason or another.

I have never played Joker VP of any flavor.  I have watched people play it next to me a few times.  I understand it is popular in the North East.  I prefer wild card games.  Waiting for quads that never seem to show gets soooo discouraging.  You can have bad days with DW as well, but at least you get a wild royal or a 5-of-a-kind once in a while.  I also like wild card games because they often run in streaks.  When I double my money I like to move up in denomination.  I'm sure this is counter productive long term, but it buys me a few hands pays a year.   A hand pay is pretty rare for a single line quarter player, so it's always exciting.  I do see quarter progressives occasionally, but our casinos often cut to the odds to make up for it.   From what I have seen, pay to play games are the norm not the exception.
