My wife's name was pulled one time and she won a thousand dollars. My name was called one evening three times and won each time 20 free play. Not sure why I got called that often that night. Might have been due to the weather being bad.

At the M Casino in Vegas/Henderson, they have weekly drawings for table games players. You get a paper ticket/entry for every natural blackjack you get. You deposit these tickets in the drum with your name and player's card number. You can accumulate them all week long.

What's interesting is how M changed the rules this year. Now, each entry ticket states that you must have actually played to be eligible for the drawing. I can guess that people were pooling their tickets, and then just one person "enters" the weekly drawing. What I don't understand: your odds don't change of winning the raffle if your group had planned on splitting the winnings anyway.

Just an example of misguided logic, I suppose, in people trying to increase the odds their name is called.

Sweet C and I have both been drawn in local drawings. She's caught a $250 free play at Isle. And, last year had her name drawn for a $1,000 gift card at Dillards at Coushatta.

I had a strong premonition that my name would be drawn at Isle one night, even told Sweet C as we dropped in our entries. At the first drawing I was talking to a employee when I stopped them an laughed I had to hear my name drawn for the 6 pm drawing. I was so disappointed when they called someone else's name and confused since my strongest premonitions generally come through. And, this premonition had been especially strong. We continued to talk about some new VP games when the PA announced a redraw due to the person not being present within 5 minutes. I smiled and asked the employee to watch my machine as I went to collect my $100 in free play as my name was called on the redraw.

CET AC raffled off three cars today in their dramatic "All American Car Giveaway" drawing. Five finalists from each casino were chosen. They then chose envelopes in order of arrival at the desk. One won the car and the four also rans $500 FP. At Bally's, a nonagenarian named Florence won a Dodge Challenger. I heard that it will be a gift for a nephew. She was last to arrive and got the default envelope. Kim from Staten Island won a Lincoln MKZ at Caesars, as did Damon at Harrah's. I was at Caesars for the 4 PM drawing. A man from Bowie, Maryland was a no show. I was not named a replacement. The heavy crowd then dwindled.
