Using optimum strategy in video poker what are the odds of (1) getting a flush after the draw, and (2) getting a full house after the draw. What I am really trying to find out is what machine is better. a 9/5 or a 8/6 machine.

Assuming you were asking about jacks or better, 9/5 is slightly better. Click on LEARN and then pay tables to see the percentages.

That depends on the hold. Holding any pair kills your chances of a flush, but a FH is possible. Holding four to a straight kills both. As the most common hold is,I believe, a pair, it stands your chances of a FH on the draw are better than a flush but it all depends on what you keep.

Years ago Stratosphere had 10/6 jacks and 9/7 jacks for quarters.was always confused on what to play, but knew both were good.

I remember those days. And the "Expected Value" for those games was, I believe positive. Great !!!
