No one has ever argued that point. It's just that some people understand
that playing a game at a 99.54 payout is better than playing the same
game at 97andchange.
If the amounts wagered are the same, you are 100% correct and I understand this perfectly.  Does anyone on this forum think the house makes more money on a player who plays a 95.5% game at 25 cents a hand over one that plays a 96.7% game at $1.25 a hand?  Of course not.   Do the math yourself.    Playing smaller does not change the odds difference, it reduces the amount of money in play.  Because these are negative games, this cuts the house profit. In this example, the single coin quarter player saves over $20 an hour by playing single coin quarters.   In addition, the cost per hand is so low, the high variance of DDB has less influence on his/her play.   This is a stone cold fact and the reason the casino dings your comps for playing single coin quarters.  NOTE: Game percentages shown are the quarter single line 8/5 DDB odds at the Tampa Florida Hard Rock.  This is the most popular VP game at this casino.
