Probably not in the right section 'cause it's more a preference thing than a strategy but....
When you sit down to play do you load bills into the machine, like 5 hundreds to set a base 100 hands of a dollar game or do you run 1 bill at a time through?
Just curious.
All at once or increments?

I usually go to a casino with a BR of $140 or $280.
I start by putting $100 or $200 in the machine. With the $140 BR, I play $1 a hand. With $280 I play $2. Both are max coin bets. Never bet less than what I need to get full pay on a royal.
With a BR of $140, I will quit if I burn through $120.
I never leave a casino broke. Even if its just mental masturbation, I always leave with $20.

I play $1 single line, max bet $5, and never put in more than $100. Sometimes, even just $40 at a time.
It's the way I discipline myself to peel the Velcro off my pants, get up from a machine, and move around to a different machine if I'm not feeling "inspired" after a few hundred on the current machine.

Why do you think it's discipline to move from machine to machine?

In the "old days" I did not put too much in at a time( I am mostly a $1 player). Some machines would dump coins into the tray when a certain number of credits was shown on the machine--often around $400. With TITO, I now load more since I do not want to be seen pulling many large bills out of my pocket/purse. I have been careful to record every $ I put into and take out of the machines.

All very interesting responses. Thank You.
Bob D. brings up a good thought I hadn't considered, Time Wasted. Most of my trips to AC are specifically because of a drawing I've been invited to and given bonus entries. You earn additional entries as you play.
I feel I fall out of the "groove" when I have to stop as well. sometimes it's good though 'cause it slows me down. Speaking of hand pays, which I haven't experienced in a while unfortunately, I hate having to wait so long sometimes to get paid and have the machine unlocked. I always say to myself, "Don't they realize the longer I wait the longer I'm not playing?" Sometimes I will play an open adjacent machine but many times my BR is loaded in the one I was playing so I can't.
