What is good enough
I have been working on my JOB strategy using a simulator that I downloaded. Playing several hundred hands, I cannot execute perfectly. I am consistently at about 95% correct, but that is about where I have stalled. Is that good enough to play VP to earn Total Rewards Diamond in a Day without getting totally wiped out?

Some of that would depend on where you tried to get the Diamond in a Day and what your bankroll is , among other things.
Get software that will identify your mistakes and that can drill you on them.
JOB is the heart and soul of almost every VP game. It's the easiest of strategies to learn and it seems you have a ways to go.
You should practice a lot more and have the strategy down pat before committing multiple thousands of dollars at risk. You also should look where you can go that has the easiest DIAD pathway. They are not all the same.

If you wait until January 2018 to earn your DIAD Diamond status, it will be good for 2018 and 2019.

You can buy a Diamond card by signing up for a certain CC with a $395 a year fee. Card holders get automatic upgrades to Diamond.
however, keep in mind that next year, free admission to Diamond loungers will be limited to those who have a certain amount of tier credits, and guests are no longer free either.

I think the credit card with the fee would be the cheapest route - although, I believe that card is backed by Comenity Bank, which is really a sub-prime lender. A real turd card I couldn't recommend to anyone. But - to each their own. Depends on why you want Diamond status, and if that works for you.

The Founders Card is one of the best cards you can get. If you can get it.
I have no idea what you think you are talking about, but you certainly can't be calling the FC a turd? It's got more benefits than almost any card I've come across. There is a reason why people pay hundreds of dollars a year to carry and use it.

The OP hasn't come back to answer, but it would be worthwhile to know WHY they want Diamond status.
Like you, I would definitely recommend against getting the "real turd card" (as you call it). Because, yes, the card is useless.
It has zero value in comparison to so many other options out there. Thinking of the Sapphire Reserve card right now, when it was 100,000 points sign up bonus points at the beginning of the year.
Anyone with some knowledge of credit card churning and manufactured spend would be shaking their head right now, if even thinking about the Caesars branded card.
So, again, it might be helpful if OP explained why Diamond status is coveted.
FYI, Caesars did a nice status match in Sept, IF you had comparable tier status elsewhere. That was FREE.

I'm going to assume neither of you know anything about the Founders card. Perhaps you guys don't ever fly or stay in hotels, or go to Diamond lounges, or ever look for tickets to shows ,concerts or sporting events.
Other than those things, it may have more benefits than most other cards.

Unlike some posters on this forum, video poker, and accumulating kitsch (casino "gifts") is not my life.
It's fine if that's your passion, no worries here.
I prefer to chase "comps" that matter. I absolutely love to talk miles and points with anyone with a similar passion for travelling the world in first class for free. There's no "catch", like there is in gambling, where you are risking your bank account, in hopes of scoring a "free" buffet or a new kitchen pot.
Way off topic here from the OP, who was inquiring about DIAD. So, I won't hijack this thread. But, I will unequivocally state that the Caesars branded card is indeed a "turd". I suggested one option in my post above, but there are many, many more similar options out there that surpass any "benefit" from the turd.
FYI, I've done the Marquee Rewards free NCL cruise and that was a huge disappointment . . . to each their own
