You already have two of the cards you need for a royal.  Four or the cards left are deuces.  You might get a royal, a wild royal, a flush, a full house, a straight or three of a kind.  The only thing you will not get is a dealt quad deuce or a royal on the draw.If you are a professional player and each error costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars, you would go with the math every time.   A recreational player wagering $1.25 a hand is playing to experience jackpots.  I prefer my jackpots to be royals.  Taking risks is what gambling is about, isn't it?

Pretty good game, this DW. I'll lean much more heavily on it next trip, maybe even 95/5 after making just a JOB cameo with my FP. JOB at either denomination has had horrific results for quite a while. I can either continue the masochism or abandon it.

Jacks or Better has two problems as far as I'm concerned.  The first being the only good jackpot is a royal flush which is so rare some people never see one.   The second being quad based games can be stone cold for what seems like days.  When playing deuces wild the bell rings often.  It's true small wins don't pay as much, but at least something is happening.   With four wild cards in play, any hand can become a winner on the draw.  A wild royal happens at about the same frequency of a quad in JB.  A quad deuce pays 1/4 of a royal, but they are 9 times more frequent.Everyone is different, so I certainly don't think deuces is the only VP game to play.  It works for us.  If you are going to play it, use software to avoid making major errors.  Deuces wild strategy is quite different from Jacks.

Yeppers. I think the real strength of deuces wild is the period of time between jackpots. That “dry” spell, where the addition of a wild card hits so many more hands...versus say DDB or TDB when the “dry” spells are so brutal it can take away jackpot wins as quickly as they come. Of course, deuces has dry spells too and can die slow deaths on that game as well. No free lunch.

Wouldn't it be great if the 2 new AC casinos opening this year offered NSUD? No chance though.
Wouldn't it be great if the 2 new AC casinos opening this year offered NSUD? No chance though.
No chance.  I've given some thought as to why Nevada casinos offer near positive VP when others don't.  I think it has to do with the cut the States take out of the casino's revenue.   Casinos were sold to the public in the East as a way to have "sinners" pay their taxes for them.  After the State and local governments take their cut, the casino's don't make enough profit to offer those games.  Vegas had casinos before the States got so greedy, so the casinos aren't taxed as much.  It's either that or the shear number of Vegas gamblers makes up the difference. The Southeast will never have good VP as long as they continue to keep out the competition.  If Georgia and Texas ever put in casino gambling, things may get better.

Dan the 2/3/4 w kicker jackpots on TDB make it more attractive to me, especially because I play multiline exclusively. I absolutely cringe when I get AWAK when playing any deuces wild version.
