Well, after all, it is Groundhog Day ... again!
That's Funny!   But it feels so good when we stop.  Why do members want to talk about CS?  Because anyone can win with it.  It's no fun talking about a VP strategy that only Mensa members can use.  If you don't know what that is, you aren't a member.

I agree with you that there probably won't be many Mensa members using CS.
I agree with you that there probably won't be many Mensa members using CS.
There are some people who wear VP success as a badge of intelligence.  They like to think they are superior to everyone else.  They make statements about how smart they are and how dumb other people are because they don't play VP using their strategy.   There is nothing intelligent about spending your life sitting in a casino.  You don't need a high IQ to figure that out.I once watched two people in the high limit room go through at least $10,000 playing deuces wild only keeping the deuces.   They didn't hit a quad deuce or a royal.  Where they stupid?  If I had said so and they hit a royal for $40,000, I would have felt pretty stupid myself. We need to get off this thing of hammering players who don't play VP like we do.  We can talk about math and how their results may be better, but their end result is going to be determined by just a few hands out of millions.   Intelligence has no bearing on when or if a royal flush is going to occur.  Casinos hate single coin VP players.  So do consultants who work for the casinos.  CS players tie up the machines for no profit, drink free drinks and listen to the same music that's pumped into the high limit room.   If you play CS quarters, your comps and free play will disappear.   If CS was such a loser, you would think they would want you to play more.  No way.  They want you out of there so they can make money off the real players!  Most VP players would do better financially if they limited the amount of
money they run through the machines.  I know this doesn't make me the most popular person to say this.  The dream of hitting it big is what drives the casino's business model and when you blow up people's dreams it's a real downer.   My advice is to play VP as entertainment, adjust the cost to your liking and enjoy the experience however you like to play.

I'm perfectly fine with a $700 trip coin in, as yesterday. $150 net win unaided by table win and barely touching my BR. Plenty of excitement from jumping for joy after my $125 quad. Boring trip sans hand. I yelled that I was getting the hell out to the next carousel guy. He made an eating gesture with his hand. I enthusiastically nodded. Let's do this again, AC.

I often snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. This time I chose to walk away. You stay, you pay. I go for the max dollar quad, optimally for pure profit in the ledger. Mission accomplished.

I doubt many people playing a game with a top prize of $1,000, or even $5000, are dreaming of hitting it big.
Just the latest example of Phil's narrative having no bearing on reality.
