Let's just say
Let's just say I found a vp machine that pays double points instead of the normal single players club points. How would some of you play this?

To maximize my points, I would play max coins on the best game with the lowest variance I knew how to play well. In my case that would be Bonus Poker.

To me that would depend on the value of the points in terms of return vs. the reduced (most likely) paytables on the machine.
It it were a fantastic players club program with some good offerings I definitely would consider taking full advantage of it. As Phil said; max coin in playing a low variance game.

What is interesting is that Video Poker is not eligible for multiple points at our local casinos. I questioned this in the Player's Club and they showed me the fine print at the bottom of the mailer.

also consider bonus point days like Wednesdays at boyd properties and i will play nsud vs 9/6 job as payback 99.73% vs 99.54% but with more variance. life as in video poker is a continuous session. as i write options on the stocks in the market as that provides a big edge but some big swings. one mast have a good bankroll and solid temperament

Even Las Vegas casinos reduce point multiplier days for video poker.
Even Las Vegas casinos reduce point multiplier days for video poker.
I didn't realize that. From what I read, Vegas video poker players get paid to play. Cash back pays your mortgage. Your wife gets a new car from her comp points. Casinos make mistakes in the player's favor and everyone is rolling in champagne and staying in high roller suites. No wonder, the copyright on my book is March 2003! I guess things have changed.

Phil just pick up a copy of the Las Vegas Review Journal and check out the casino ads. They'll say something like: Tuesdays earn 875X points video poker players earn 2X. Of course the info about video poker players is in much smaller print. The billboards are the same way.
But remember; when you play out there at high levels even 2X points for video poker play can make a world of difference.

What I have a hard time figuring out is how a casino can give away all that stuff for playing a game with a negative house edge. If a player is living a nice lifestyle out of their video poker machines, is he/she ever fired?
