Sure. Anything is possible . ..What is your evidence that "string manipulation" has ANYTHING to do with video poker? I did a google search and the only thing that comes up is this thread. Apparently this author is the first person in history to come up with this theory.  . .

String theory/string manipulation is not new AND it has previously been linked with video poker, even ON THIS FORUM years ago (before I joined this forum).
So, thanks Eduardo, for attributing this to me as the "first person in history".

Perhaps Google is only as good as the person using it to search?

I've mentioned string manipulation before, and some other poster provided the link to the other thread ON THIS FORUM that someone else started on this very topic.
Perhaps you can search for it here, Eduardo.

DB: many posters have noted a change in VP. Folks can believe whatever makes them happy.
Yes I know, I have maintained that very, simple thought for years...As for my part, its only casinos in AC that I have noticed statistically skewed results over the last 5+ years, and many seven star players that I am acquainted with at the CET properties in AC, which are server based casinos, all claim they have seen strange, unusually poor results for extended stretches that are NOT just normal "bad stretches"......I am NOT saying its PROOF of anything, but peoples' opinions and input, however flawed or subject to various imperfections, is still worth something. And enough with this spurious ridiculous reasoning that "WELL IF YOU THINK THE CASINOS ARE SCREWING AROUND THEN WHY PLAY!"     Ask yourself that the next time you play TOO Long and lose all your money and then kick yourself all the way back to your room  "Why didn't I quit earlier!?!?   why why why"      And as reported MANY TIMES, in the past 2-1/2 years I myself HAVE greatly curtailed my total frequency and amount of video poker played, in part *but not solely) due to the difficulty in winning in AC.....I have always had decent, "Normal" video Poker results in Vegas, Reno and Nevada in general.

. .

In case you are interested, the thread on this forum regarding string manipulation was August of 2013, and discussed by "williejoe"
You might like to read it, as "williejoe" attempts to explain the math side of it.

Have you noticed the anger and bitterness from other posters who lack the intelligence, and compensate by hurling nonsense? Phil and you normally get the brunt of this . . . so happy to deflect that!!

So, you think that Vegas is on the "up and up", but this Doug (not me) is claiming "string manipulation". And I can't remember the last time he did NOT play in Nevada...so do you believe him or not? Don't feel like you have to answer that, but my answer is obvious. I'm taking my chances that most (hopefully all) land based casinos aren't a huge conspiracy theory breaking laws.

Personally myself, I've had some of the best luck in video poker in my life in the last 2.5 years. So if they are "manipulating strings", keep manipulating them like this for me!!! Been doing particularly well with royals (6 when I should have received less than 3). And this includes Tunica (3 royals since 9/2015), which is definitely a "struggling market" like AC. I don't expect it to last, but I would love it to.

And the previous 3 years, my luck sucked decently with no royals (expectation about 3). But my samples were not even close to claim my results were "rigged". But I still complained about the lack of royals on this forum!

But I still complained about the lack of royals on this forum!    I'll freely admit, until you posted this, I did not actually realize WHERE DougJ did most of his playing (I guess I need to pay attention more to such details), but in the context of this discussion it does not matter......why? Simply because what we are discussing is how string manipulation is just one way whereby the POTENTIAL to manipulate, or "manage" results can be perpetrated......this is to show how such a thing is indeed POSSIBLE, since the counter argument is often that it is not possible or could never happen (or does not HAVE to happen because the house already has the edge, etc. etc.)I'll have to dig up the 2013 thread he referenced.....VMAN, your last statement, that you are willing to "take your chances that land based casinos are not engaging in conspiracy to break laws..."   is why this debate devolves into silliness.    I am not blaming or criticizing YOU personally, since just about everyone here makes this absurd LEAP of logic and scope and turns the discussion into absurdity.     As far as myself goes, I have NEVER advocated a large scale land based casino conspiracy to explain what I myself have seen in terms of statistically ABNORMAL results in several Atlantic city Casinos (mostly the CET properties in AC itself.)Let me state it one last time:    From 2011 (approximately) up through 2016 (when I last played consistently and significantly in AC), I saw statistically abnormal, negative results in AC, at primarily the four (and then three) CET casino properties,  Caesars Palace, Ballys, Harrahs and Showboat (until it shuttered);     For this five plus year period I would just lose, in the most one-sided, non-random manner possible.  That's all I am saying.......I know numerous other people who experienced very similar results. It was clear that, due to the scope, frequency and consistency of these negative results, something more than simple Variance and rotten luck was at work......Here are some circumstantial reasons/evidence independent of the actual machines and servers to explain and support my theory:AC was for a long time in a death spiral....the market had catastrophically shrunk by more than 50% in a very short period of time.....The Corporation  CET has been in massive crushing unsustainable debt since the 2008 recession.....this is common knowledge.   The situation thus presents itself where, if a casino is perhaps "going down" despite all legitimate attempts to reverse that, it is at least possible that such a casino MIGHT either add to its already existent house edge to increase profit, or at the very least, attempt to PREVENT certain large "WINS" or Winners on the part of players......Video Poker is known as one of the games most casinos "tolerate" due to its nature as a favorable game to skilled, smart players.

Have I noticed the arrogance and hostility of others whenever this discussion takes place???  Yes indeed      I don't get nearly as much "brunt" as floridaphil, and to be clear floridaphil's specific issues and arguments are NOT mine......I like Floridaphil and do not want to see ANYONE (yes ANYONE) driven out or away from this forum.    You need not orry about deflecting anything from ME/MYSELF/MOI......I enjoy (most of) it..... Mini-apartment dwelling Henderson dweller.....Are you referring to Billyryan here?   I honestly don't have too much problems with Billy....I'm grounded enough to know I annoy people (mostly unintentionally) and Billy can be annoying, and I am sure HE knows this too......but he does bring stuff to the table.Pretend Native American from Joliet?   I am afraid to guess who that is.....but yes, I agree in general, going out of one's way to collect and gather the junk that comprises much of casino giveaways, all in the name of being an AP and clearing a perceived profit, is not something I personally would do.....I don't need to, don't want to.   I have no problem with those who do, so long as they do not crow about it and use it to "prove" to the rest of us just what smart players they are, lol. There are some casino gifts and giveaways that, every now and then, are indeed "cool" or "useful" or GOOD, but the majority is indeed stuff you see on sale in the clearance aisle at "Crazy Vladimir's Discount Dugout", or your 99 cent Store, take your pick.

I have nothing much to add to the current AC situation since I have avoided CET properties for the last 5 years or so. Every time I think that I want to go to Caesars for the Double Joker progressive, I wind up getting off at the White Horse Pike exit and going to Borgata. One of these days, I'll do it.

Even though I've played in Nevada a long time, I've lived all across the States and played elsewhere, including AC.

Regarding the string manipulation, the 2013 thread on this forum that I referenced had some discussion about Nevada Gaming Board and the definition of "random" or "random and fair."

Since I now know you are "Tring" and appreciate your posts on the other forum, I will elaborate here just a little: This is not about Nevada casinos (or any state, actually) "breaking laws." The issue is who is interpreting the definition of random or random and fair?
My spouse recently did a two year rotation at a well-known national laboratory (maybe the same one as Michael Shackleford), and it is fascinating to hear about programming capabilities.. .

It makes no difference to me whether folks dismiss this as not credible. Gaming statues and regulations are subject to interpretation, and when they were written, it was in accordance with "programming" knowledge at that specific time.

Not sure why anyone sees the need to pointlessly lie about stuff, but it seems a routine path for the uneducated posters here.
My "routes" are for the purpose of collecting cash, not kitsch. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But I digress. Let's get back to that renowned math expert called silliness and his peer reviewed dissertation.

Thanks for the props DougJ but I don't reside in Joliet. And as far as you calling Joliet a "ghetto" the Family Median Income in Joliet is $70,489.00 per annum.

Edited to add: Just for comparison, the family median income in Las Vegas is $51,853.00 and the median family income in Cambridge Massachusetts is $73,312.00 I wrote the names of a few east coast cities to pick from and wouldn't you know, I wrote the names of a few east coast cities on slips of paper and tossed them into a hat to pick one to use and I picked Cambridge. How fortuitous was that?

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I have reasonable confidence that DJ will someday make a correct assumption. How hard can it be?
Keep hope alive.
