Silly, goofy and authentic are not mutually exclusive.

I've been watching my share of the Olympics lately, and edog's Gold or nothing attitude reminds me of many of these athletes. That spirit is what Champions are made of.

Is the Tournament of Champions in his future? Only perseverance, a little luck, and fate will tell.

If you wish to win the week-long contests here, understand that if you are not dealt a royal flush AT LEAST you have no chance.Playing TDB also gives you the odds of hitting AWAK for the same payout. Such a hand is 3-times as frequent at being dealt a royal.Playing Bonus Poker gives you only 1/4 of the chance of TDB, because being dealt AWAK pays too little to do you any good. For the contest here, ignore such factors as how much you get for two pair. It doesn't matter. What matters is how many of the big jackpots you are dealt. Your skill level matters very little. Your luck factor this week is what's important. Maybe eDog is right! For those who discussed playing in real-live casinos the best game to choose is different. There it depends on the return of the game (i.e. 98%, 99%, etc.), whether you are comfortable with the volatility (i.e. 9/7 TDB and 9/6 JoB return the same amount, but the former is a MUCH scarier ride than the latter. Some folks like that. Some don't.), and even what game you think is most fun. Another consideration is how much coin-in does it take to earn a point in whatever system you're playing. None of this matters on videopoker.com contests because you're playing with funny money and coming in 100th place is tied (for last!) with coming in 10,000th place. In the real world, coming in 100th place would be many thousands of dollars ahead of coming in 10,000th place.

when I'm at a CET casino, I usually don't notice Aces and Faces.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Lucky you. It's constantly in my face. Another good reason to stick to the JOB quarter progressive bank!

In this case (and I only know this based on his play and previous posts) edog is referring to the Monthly Contest, which consists of playing roughly 15,000 hands (depending on the month) of single hand video poker. Strategy becomes much more important in this situation, though luck will of course always be a significant factor.

For the Daily and Weekly contests, it's all about that big jackpot to be sure.

I think single line games are biased against those of us who play multi-line games.

The first couple posts you made in this ongoing "feud" I indeed believe you were horsing around, but then it seemed you really were authentic....take it as a compliment either way!

Speaking of "strategy matters" ...

Question: as there are a number of strategy-obsessed on this site, have we ever considered having a running total throughout the year (or month or quarter), tracked separately (through every game), so that through the 10s and 100s of thousands of hands, we could see the fruit of optimal play? I know I would really value such a feature.

Lucius, I don't know how many formats ago it was, but at one time, your bankroll traveled with you here from game to game.  Of course, you had to get more credits when you ran out or you wouldn't be able to play.  So, the bankroll really did not show your net wins and losses.  You still can see the top scores daily and monthly game by game when clicking on Top Scores rather than Play Now, but obviously that is not what you were asking about, and of course Top Scores don't necessarily flow from playing max EV strategy.
