Billy, there is nothing inherently wrong or evil about a casino making a profit. Casino gambling is popular with many of my retiree friends. It's not the games or the odds that make them harmful, it's human greed and the people who sell schemes promising to beat the casinos that are. Whether they know it or not, these people are in business with the casino.

When you sell that dream, you share the responsibility of the harm that is done and no manner of disclaimer will release you. If the people who do this aren't bothered by their own conscience, they will have to live with the knowledge of the people they have harmed. This bothers me deeply.

Perhaps if you talked to the people I do your opinion might change? The widow that threw away her husband's life insurance money playing VP or the person I spoke to last week that has gone through most of her retirement money. These people are not an anomaly. It happens all the time. Video poker is gambling. It comes with risk. It is very addictive. In most cases the odds are stacked against you. A lot of people would be better off if it was never invented.

I enjoy the game as entertainment. I promote playing it as small as possible because doing so limits the damage. I have no use for a forum that promotes harmful behavior. I am here to help people enjoy the casino without being hurt financially. Some people don't want my help. I get that. I think I know why you are here. I hope I am wrong.

Phil, I have no problem with the way you or anyone else plays. Just don't know why you have to repeat it so MANY times. It seems like an all consuming obsession for you.

Three laws of successful video poker players.
1) play only when you have the advantage.
2) have a proper payroll for the game you play.
3) play within yourself. Don't play tired, or angry or intoxicated.

Imagine the good Phil might achieve if that were the message he brought to his flock. No more widows losing their life savings, insurance money or whatever.
Friends don't let their friends play bad video poker. Who in their right mind tries to convince people the right way to play bad games is to play them badly.
Especially when he himself doesn't play the very system he advocates..

Cue the famous Phil response of "But what about the players who don't have games available where they can play at an advantage? What are they to do??"

"Million Dollar Video Poker" Part Three - Consulting for Casinos.
That's it? Your idea of identifying experts (plural) currently (present day) consulting to casinos is to refer to a book written more than 15 years ago?

You can not discuss the good things about VP while ignoring the bad things. As responsible members we should realize people read what we say. Do you want your grandma thinking she can beat the casinos?

That wasn't his point, Phil. His point was you are always repeating yourself.

I don't post much, but have enjoyed reading here over the years. Not so much recently.

Some of the "experts" may be painful at times but the repetition in your posts IS the single most annoying thing around here, Phil.

Stop and ask yourself "have I posted this or something similar before?" Odds are we read it the first time and you don't need to say it AGAIN.

You seem like a nice guy. We like the same game. I'd rather read about your recent visit to a casino than receive another "lesson" on how to piss away my money slowly.

If this repeating repeating repeating keeps up I swear I'm going to gauge my eyes out and it will be your fault.

So will Phil ease the pain of a real forumite or continue his crusade for the millions of destitute seniors he encounters?

Spot on Dd18 please no eye gouging,(i think you meant gouging).

FP i also think you are a nice guy, anyone who can see thru bd's charade can't be all bad. When you get to Soaring Eagle i will buy you all the beer you can handle (bd can buy his own out of the tip money he saves).

However, and here comes the spot on part, please read Dd18's post over& over until the main point becomes inescapable.

For the rest of us, how can we assist our brother Fp in his effort to break free from his repeat-addiction (is that really good english ?).

Can anyone think of a code letter or something he could use and save all that typing.

Maybe something similar to the legendary "DITTO'S.

My theory is that Phil honestly doesn't remember what he just posted 2 hours ago and so he posts it again, thinking he's saying it for the first time.
