. 5 for 1 Flush games, albeit often lower paying, do tend to have simpler strategies.Not true. Vman, you're one of the posters on this site that I respect, but I think you got this one wrong.In JoB, 5-for-1 games are MUCH more difficult than 6-for-1 games. This is also true for DDB.Compare the following from 9/6 JoB Advanced Strategy  (Bold Italics are not coming though):AH, KH11: AHHT, KQJ9………………………………..(< SF3 -1 with no sp)12: SF3 -1 [includes 234 and all A-low]13: KQJ > QJ14: JT ……………………………………………(< KJ when fp)15: KHHere is the same section of an 8/5 JoB strategyAH12: AHHT; KQJ9 > KQJ13: QJ……………………… (< JT7 except when 8p; < J97 or J87 only when Ap)14: JT ……………………… (always < JT7)……………………… (< SF3 -1 with A-low or "875" {also "865" in 8/5 and 8/5 Bonus}) ……………………… (< KJ when fp or 9p or 8p)……………………… (< AJ when fp plus {9p or 8p})15: SF3 -1*………………… (< KJ when T-high)……………….. (< KJ when {JT7 with 8p}, {J97 with 8p}, or {J87 with 9p or Tp})…………………. (< J when T-high with 6p {even if 6 suited with J})…………………. (< J when SF3 -1 has low of 2, 3, or 4 with sp unsuited with J)**…………………. (< A when 2-low with 6p {must be unsuited with A in 8/5 only})16: KH To me there is no comparison in terms of complexity. 9/6 is MUCH easier.

9/6 JoB in my location just got downgraded to 9/5. I haven't touched it at all since and never will.

I guess I haven't practiced slash looked at the strategy of 9/5 JoB or DDB lately. I'm "rec player" in that regard for sure. I really don't enjoy practicing much. I often have little interest in playing fast, so if I'm really unsure at a casino, I'm willing to toss a close hand into an analyzer.

*Yes, I know that's technically illegal.

I should try to brush up on double deuces this week. May be playing some of that Saturday night in Tunica.

I have that one.

I don't have the smarts to ever become an expert like you guys. I am 62, and I do have some degree of brain damage (pedestrians lose when they bull fight with cars--hard to separate the Age issue from the injury, but I estimate, it cost me 10-15 IQ points from when I was 30).

But my goal is not excessive. I actually prefer playing blackjack (it is so much easier than VP, and I learned it when I was 30 :-). I can play at the $25 table virtually indefinitely. But on my last trip, one day I played BJ for seven hours, none stop, and earned less than 500 tier credits. So unless I really up my days in Vegas, I will never get to Diamond (I guess I like merit badges).

So, my VP goal is the minimize the cost of getting 2500 points in a day.

The good thing is that I am retired, so I have hours a day to practice and study. And my next trip isn't until August. As suggested, I have started playing the simulator in "Strategy" mode and it seems much easier.

Just keep in mind that at CZR casinos 9/6 JOB offer a 50:1 count down to earn 1 Tier Credit. 2500 TCs will be very hard to earn. I suggest looking for Bonus or Double Bonus games to give you a better chance with their 10:1 count down to earn 1 tier credit to get you to 2500 in 1 day.

I am will to play the 8-5 game. This is recreation for me, and that is more than best odds. I want to like the place, and I like Caesars Palace. Not as pretentious as Wynn or Bellagio, and not as down market as Flamingo. Right in my groove. The 8-5 games are 10-1 in Caesars.

If your goal is to reach 2500 tier points in a day, there are many better places to earn them than Vegas. I don't mess with CET, but I know some locations offer better games and have better reward schedules than their Vegas locations.
Why do you want to score 2500 points in a day?
By the way, if Diamond status is important to you, apply for fOunders Credit Card. They run $295 a year and include Diamond status.

2500 in a day gets you a 5000 point bonus--halfway to diamond. 5000 gets you 10,000 bonus--diamond in a day. But I know that I don't have the stamina for 5000 in a day--unless I play a $5 machine.

I like Vegas great restaurants (most of our trips revolve around food--well, I guess all of our trips revolve around food). But we can see a show or two, also. And I just like the "electric" atmosphere of Vegas.

All that being said, I live in Atlanta, if there is somewhere that I could go for 2 or 3 days, like Cherokee. Any suggestions are welcome.

I have thought about a founders card, but, 1. Diamond status is only for the year you subscribe, not the following year. And, probably most meaningful, 2. Comps are a function of EV, so the founder's route gets you zero.

As I understand things, EV is a function of statistics, not my individual incompetence. So, losing more doesn't increase my EV. Unless, of course, I am wrong about how Casinos value their customers.

You guys are helping me a lot. I have a long way to go, but I am already seeing some progress.
