Had a great visit with DB yesterday, thanks for the great dinner at Morton’s Steak House. We talked about everyone on the forum.😂, no trust me it was all good, unfortunately the new QQ machines at Caesars and Ballys were not talking enough to disturb FAA, it seems the grace period is over as they are now in line with the QQ machines @ Harrahs..

Yes folks, both Bally and Caesars copied Harrah's and purchased for themselves two (2) each multiline "Quack" Quads machines, denominations ranging from nickels to 1 dollars. The games ran hot and cold (more cold) for me from Friday thru Monday 04/09. Jeter was only there for a few hours Monday but the machines were not nice to him this time....he is correct though, when they first install games like these, it's a huge win fest!

Theoretically, QQs can be a great game to play for many reasons, especially if you master the basics of concept and strategy. The key to being profitable for any given QQ session centers on all the non quad hands you catch....you can't afford too many duds, or non paying hands! If you can make sure to recoup the majority of your bets on each non quad hand by converting straights, flushes, full houses, etc. You're going to be in good shape.   Sadly this wasn't the case for me this trip ( my first of 2018!)


Edited to add: I was dealt a regular quad playing ten handed nickels on Double Bonus ( 270 credits X 10 for 2700 nickels ($135), one of the highlights of the weekend!

Misery loves company. Glad to hear that you two intrepid voyagers could augment CET coffers in my absence this weekend. To my great delight, I had a lovely time in my milieu. No DTs. Free casino booze is rarely free. It was good to abstain and recharge. I can't wait to hit a RF and bid the QQs a final one finger salute farewell.

I'd like to comment on Morton's.....the food and fare are obviously well done and tasty, but in no way is it worth the absurd prices they charge...the concept of diminishing returns applies to these so called high end steak houses. Jeter and I had a long in depth conversation on this exact topic; Jeter is essentially a master cook with extensive culinary knowledge and skills.   Some might attribute it to his Italian heritage, but I'm not a racist in any sense or on any level and I don't subscribe to stereotypical thinking...Jeter is a culinary master just because....

Morton's charged 59 bucks for a 12 oz filet mignon...it was indeed delcious, but no more or less so than the 12 oz filet I used to enjoy at Robert's Steakhouse in the Taj that cost 54, and it certainly was not better or worse than the 12oz filet mignon I often get at Gallagher's for 48 bucks! The side dishes at Morton's are 13 - 15 bucks each, slightly more than the 10 bucks at Gallagher's again with no quality difference except that which individual palates account for!

In short, if you're in AC and must do the high end steakhouse routine, I still recommend Gallagher's in Resorts over the rest of the crowd in AC.... you'll save 15-20% overall compared to Morton's and get the same quality.

Now, some of you may insist that you can go to a place like McCormick & Schmucks and order their filet (10 oz) for 30 bucks and it's just as tasty as Gallagher's. I've never had M&S steak so I cannot compare, but I would be inclined to think the price difference makes up for whatever quality difference might exist with a Gallagher's or Morton's.

Shore Sticker Shock! Stop the AC Press!
Talk about buyer's remorse. Did you ballers ever consider the modest establishment upstairs, Gordon Ramsay PG? Your filet there is an elaborate Beef Wellington. Some consider it a value at $49. I dislike the pastry, so I've abstained. The venue lacks the clubby steakhouse feel. Taj closed a while back, so their prices would have crept up accordingly. Nero's has $9 sides and gorgeous views. Bon apetit!

Most who frequent the high end Steakhouses in AC are usually using comp $$. When my son was discharged from the Army we had a dinner for him at the Steakhouses @ Harrahs, $1000 comp $ I had been saving, I call it Monopoly money.

Ah geez....you lost me here FAA.... I don't know what I was naive about or where I discussed locations ( or didn't discuss...???)   I do agree that water is wet, and that the middle of the "Bored" Walk is the best place to stay, especially as the weather turns nice again.

Naive about AC steakhouse prices, I'd assert. Gouging is the order of the day in a tourist trap town! When in Rome, etc. My other point: Location is a cost factor everywhere else. Why not in AC? Caesars complex, the BW epicenter, must be priciest on the BW. Plus, Morton's is simply outrageously expensive nationwide to begin with. Somewhere, Ted is ROTF!
