Until recently, we didn't have nickel VP in Florida.  It's now one of the most popular games at the casinos that offer it.   The odds are lower than quarters, but the loss per hour is much less.

Do they still have the quarter 40/10/6 DDB at the bar near high limit?

Nickel 99.54% JOB is news to me in AC. But, I'd probably pass it up anyway.

The nickel games we have in Florida are 95-96% games.  Still a good deal for a retiree on a budget.  Those players aren't concerned with beating the game.  They want to be entertained for as long and as cheap as possible. Not a bad goal if you're honest about your games and your abilities.

Jstark. Checked those DDB their 250/40/400/160/160/80/50/10/6/4/3/1/1. 99.96% For 25 cents thru dollars. Have not enough hair for the variance . All though my mon-tues hits of 9 quads and 1 4Awk(on the deal no less) would have fit that pay table nicely.

I was there last night and can confirm Soaring Eagle still has the quarter 40/10/6 DDB games at the back left bar near the poker room (which was moved back there from the right front side of the place which is now high limit). Also on those machines are 9/6 JoB, 35/8/5 BP, 9/7/5 DB, NSUD, 9/5 White Hot Aces. Personally, I lost $26 on UX plays and decided to either spend the last $14 or get back to even on the JoB. Expecting to spend it, and after about 15 hands, I held KJ10 ♥️ and drew the Q9 ♥️.😁

FP, I offer a bit of possible improvement of CS single-quarter play. Nickel 5-play. $200 dollar royals, less painful. I am forced to this play casionally when my bankroll for the trip has been "Invested" sans REBATES and the ATM has resisted all pleas.
Assuming the nickel and the quarter game odds are the same, nickels would be the better game. Unfortunately, casinos normally drop the odds on nickel games to make up for the loss in revenue. I use Video Poker for Winners software to tell me which game is better. It is common to find single coin odds better at higher denominations than max coins at a lower denomination. Odds don't always tell the whole story. To be happy playing single coin, you must be able to stomach short coin royals. This is difficult for many players.

Royal is quite the blue moon. I'm always needlessly bummed when I draw on 3RF.
