Maybe Minutes Played Strategy of the Week. 5 minutes on 1 coin, 10 minutes on two coins, 10 minutes on three. Repeat. Hope RF skips yet another week to avoid remorse. Cap wins and losses. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The cheapest VP game with the best odds in Tampa is single coin 50 cent deuces wild.  A hundred buys you 200 hands and you can play a 98.9% game.   The royal penalty knocks that down 1%, but it's still 1% better than the max coin quarter game even with the royal bonus.  Playing single coin requires a different mind set.   You must consider royals as just another jackpot and nothing special.  In today's seriously negative VP games, playing single coin is not that bad of a Recreational strategy.  Most small denomination players would save money by playing this way, but you will always be second guessing yourself and it's hard to keep from beating yourself up. I think the break point is 98%.  If you can play games better than that you should play max coins. The worst thing that can happen to a single coin player is to hit multiple royals in one day.   Over my two year period, this happened to me and it was extremely painful. The worst thing that can happen to a max coin player is to hit a royal and feed it back into the machine.  Been there, done that too.The reason I play max coins today has less to do with royals and more to do with benefits.   If you play single coin in most casinos, your comps and offers will suffer.  My annual free play is more than two royals.   My wife and I use the free rooms as mini vacations.  These things offset the cost of playing max coins, so for us it's a better deal.   The best max coin quarter game in Tampa is 98% Bonus Poker.   Players should look at everything the casino offers, not just the odds.

-$300 been there, done that. No return trip needed. I just have to revisit playing cheap, having fun. It gets boring after an hour at quarter. That's when I should hit happy hour. $4 to warm a seat in a master chef restaurant. My BR won't be burned. Then back to the grind. But dollar is death!

Surrounded by unlimited free food and drink, beautiful rooms with 6 hbo channels, shows for the asking, all kinds of games on the big screens with free drinks, even unlimited free golf just 20 minutes away......and you would think I could just pack in the long session and enjoy some of the above. A very difficult thing to do most times. It does help when the Mrs. is with me though.

Lots of rain coming to Florida this weekend, so I snuck off to the Hard Rock today.   Played my usual Bonus Poker game for two hours.  After lunch I switched to DDB to test the waters and hit this hand holding one ace.  Surprise!!

This is a good example of why odds aren't as significant to a Recreational VP player.   Other than letting you play more hands, better games don't necessarily pay better when switch games and switching denominations.   With so much of the return riding on so few hands, luck is where you find it.   If this hand was hit an hour earlier it would have paid $100.  If it was hit when I was playing deuces wild, it would have paid $5.  It actually wouldn't have happened at all as you don't hold one ace in DW.   Instead it paid half a royal playing a 96.8% game.  I think it was Ted who said "Timing is everything!"  How true....
