For those keeping score, Phil only has one problem with Bob dancer:1) Bob plays $25 VP and talks about it and1) Bob would be okay with his daughter marrying someone in his same profession and1) Bob doesn't teach people how to lose slowly on bad pay tables except on this forum when he suggested not playing at all or if you must, play more slowly or lower amounts on such machinesIf Bob would simply pretend that he only plays quarters, disavow any future imaginary son in law associated with gambling, and start teaching people how to be better losers instead of winners, then they would be like besties.

The Stories Forum is not the place to discuss this issue.  I would guess some members would prefer it was not discussed at all.  We can sit on this forum and pretend video poker is not addictive,  We can talk about winning all the time and never talk about losing.  We can pretend anyone who plays with an advantage turns a profit.  We can even ignore the damage inflicted on players who believe they can't lose long term because math says so.These are serious social issues.  The ramifications of telling people math owes them a jackpot are significant.   Video poker may in fact be beatable in a computer lab.  Someone needs to tell players they are not computers.  Someone needs to tell players the odds of them becoming a successful VP professional are one in a million and it has nothing to do with their intelligence.   If the industry is going to get in bed with this strategy, it needs to be responsible about how it's marketed.

How many success video poker professionals are there?  Five, ten, a hundred, a thousand?  How many players are there?    If a profit is virtually guaranteed by playing positive VP games, why does anyone in Vegas bother to work when all they have to do is sit on a chair at South Point?

FP: I agree with Ted and Gale about constantly bringing up on or responding to posts concerning Dancer. In particular, referring to "the person who calls himself "Bob Dancer"". That is his name. People in the public eye, particularly in the entertainment business do not go by their birth names. Yo u wouldn't refer to John Wayne, Tony Curtis, Bob Hope etc. in that way. I highly doubt you are jealous of him, just somewhat obsessed.

I like your posts when they focus on your recreational experience. That's fine but constantly repeating yourself doesn't enhance your image.

The above advice is from someone who appreciates your presence especially getting the recreational topic established as part of the forum.





Phil, please read this post particularly the second paragraph. The same for others who repeat themselves as well. I am sure I am not alone in feeling this way. In another post you mentioned moving on. It's time to do so.

I'm one. I don't live in Vegas. Never been to South Point. I'm just patient and wait for the right time to strike.
