Re: AC prediction

Thanks Jim. Wish I knew that. I already took my MLife gold card to Ocean and got the upgrade to Platinum, so that's that. I got my Hard Rock upgrade as well. Played my free play thru at both places and wound up with nothing. There is no playable VP at Hard Rock, so I won't be back, but I'll try the $1.00 9/6 JOB at Ocean occasionally. Do you get access to the Ocean Premier lounge if you don't have the required amount of comp dollars in your account? I don't think so. I live an hour away and only do day trips, my wife can't stand AC, so the comped rooms have little value to me. Looks like i will lose my gold card at MLife after September as I haven't played enough coin in this year. i don't chase card upgrades, so they can downgrade me, I'll pay the $5.00 parking fee. Will stick with the good 99.5% plus games at Borgata. They have been good to me, still up 3k this year. Still have $400 comp dollars and will use that for dinner at Old Homestead or Bobby Flay's with my business partners. Thanks for the info again.

I think you can get into both Ocean's lounges once for free. After that you will need comp$$ in your account. I played the free money at both place also. I was playing Deuces wild at Ocean and lucky enough to hit the 4 deuces.
We played the money at Hard Rock and had dinner in the player lounge. They had a temporary lounge set up in the ballroom by the elevators. The new lounge should be open by now.
I have booked my free rooms at Ocean in Sept. My girlfriend and I plan on staying there and playing at the Borgata. For me I am 1hour and 45 min. away so I am glad to take a free room
I wasn't impressed with the VP at Hard Rock i didn't see to many machines. I just saw that one section of VP machine over by the Showboat / bus area.

Ok getting back to predictions and prognostications/forecasting about the economy of AC (and the USA economy at large, by extension).....with the onset of winter and the slowing of business that it brings to AC, the 2 new properties will now be hard pressed to remain even remotely profitable thru the winter of 2018-2019, while simultaneously "cannibalizing" the business that previously was distributed amongst the other 7 existing AC casinos....with the US economy currently trucking along at what seems like a very healthy pace, some people who are not very deep thinkers might surmise that AC will weather the coming winter very nicely.....that's not a realistic scenario, at least in terms of long term economic health for AC and its 9 casinos . The US economy will, sooner rather than later, begin to exhibit very obvious and abrupt signs of slowing, and because much of the current growth is due to the temporary and short sighted TAx cuts that Trump insisted on putting thru despite the fact they were completely unneeded and completely unwise. When the US economy goes thru the inevitable and certain slow down after experiencing a sustained period of growth, there is now no fiscal policy remaining to counteract the coming slow down and recession. By putting forth these absurd tax cuts that benefit only the alreadt wealthy and prosperous, Trump has clipped what little fiscal stimulus/easing the government might do in the event of economic recession. This means the next recession will quite likely be extremely painful, possibly devolving into a depression!

AC will in all probability emerge next Memorial Day, 2019, in very uncertain and unhealthy shape, which means that unless the clowns running the existing 9 casinos can come up with some very effective and creative ways to grow revenue, the 2 new casinos (along with a few of the others) might be in danger of once again shuttering by the end of 2019!

I hope I am wrong, and as is always the case with economic prognostication, nothing is for certain....but I am certain that, despite all the bluster to the contrary, the current administration is actually doing quite a bit that can and will HARM the long term health of the USA's economy, as well as numerous other areas.....(anyone notice the absurd, almost criminal negligence of the Trump administration when it comes to the ENVIRONMENT???)

Just another anti-Trump rant, what else is new. Don't agree that the tax cuts are unhealthy and only benefit the rich, but agree that the casino industry in AC is in for another round of closures. Read somewhere that overall July revenues were up in AC from 2018 to 2017, but each existing individual casino's revenues were down. No surprise.

according to usgovernmentrevenue.com, total federal tax revenue collected since tax cuts, is HIGHER than before tax cuts. a growing economy is the reason.

total fed, state, local taxes collected for 2018 is predicted $6.21 TRILLION, which is also overall higher than 2017.

we do not have a revenue problem, but rather a spending problem.
